Was it really the best electronic album of 2014 or did it only win the Grammy because it was the only electronic album people knew of in 2014?
I kinda wish he was at the event to accept the award. Imagine everyone's reaction seeing this ultra-modest Brit-m8 walk on the stage with his long radiant light-brown hair, accepting the award with a "oh ta, thanks for this, this is pretty cool, really enjoying this tonight it's been a nice time, hey boys, dad's on't telly!"
He walks off stage and gives Yeezus a look that could kill or says "you recorded the sample wrong you numpty mong"

In fairness, I'd be pissed too. Richard offered politely to correct it for Kanye from a technical point of view, as producer to producer, and Kanye basically told him to get fucked, using the sample anyway and I think there was some issue about not paying Richard for the recording too.

Syro was exceedingly well polished, and it was certainly one of 2014's highlights in electronic music, but I felt Xen by Arca was fresher and more interesting.
Other electronic albums of note from last year:
Andy Stott - Faith In Strangers
Ben Frost - Aurora
Brock Van Wey - Home
Call Super - Suzi Ecto
Caribou - Our Love
Clark - S/T
Ecologist - Storming Heaven
Function / Vatican Shadow - Games Have Rules
Joris Voorn - Nobody Knows
Kiasmos - S/T
Millie & Andrea - Drop the Vowels
Mr. Mitch - Parallel Memories
Objekt - Flatland
Pye Corner Audio - The Black Mill Tapes
Tobacco - Ultima II Message
Variant - Dreaming Thru Vector
Vessel - Punish Honey
Wife - What's Between
Yagya - Sleepygirls
Few if any of these have the technical mastery of Syro, but they have just as much if not more soul to me.
I think it very much could be. It's not too much of a stretch.
That really wasn't a great record. Overrated by people who don't want to like popular records.
Eh, not too much of a fan of solo Arca but I agree with your list.
dude are you kidding me?
