>"I was just so excited he was coming up. He deserves to be on stage as much as anybody," Beck said when asked how he felt about West crashing the stage. "How many great records has he put out in the last five years right?"
>Even though he said Beyonce should have won? "Absolutely," replied the humble musician. "I thought she was going to win. Come on she's Beyonce!"
>And what about his diss that Beyonce is true artistry, and you're not? "You can't please everybody, man," he replied. "I still love him and think he's genius. I aspire to do what he does."
>even Beck himself admits Kanye is a visionary
pretentious contrarian /mu/ getting BTFO
>"Gigantic by Pixies is the greatest song ever written. I cry every time I hear those beautiful lyrics."
>being a nice guy means that you're a giant cuck
kanye fans pls go
can confirm a plethora of latinos hate kanye
>thinks entire american public thinks just like him
Artists who are truly talented can be modest, because they don't have to prove anything.
Talentless negros have to chimp out at any given opportunity to fool people into thinking they are relevant.
but it absolutely does though.
there is no fucking reason you shouldn't be able to enjoy having fun (being in the club, going to the beach, playing a sport, drinking, smoking, watching a game, playing vidya, crafting a table) with friends while any popular hip hop record plays.
you literally are racist if a perfectly enjoyable experience is "brought down" or "ruined" by the music.
I don't hate Kanye or Beyonce's music and it doesn't ruin anything for me, I just don't think it's very good or artistically notable. I don't listen to mainstream black music ever on my own though because I find it annoying and abrasive. It has nothing to do with being racist.
>"Beck Needs to Respect Artistry and He Should Have Given His Award to Beyoncé"
>O-oh it's ok guys, I'm so excited that he went up stage
Either he is the biggest beta cuck ever, he has a good PR team or he simply doesn't give a fuck and wants to head back to the studio
Either way, that was the right answer. Better cuck that "raicyss" in the US media
Beck, systematically letting a whole race down...
Stand the fuck up for yourself, Jesus I'd hate to see him on a subway in the ghetto alone with some thuggish rubbish.
I mean, it's cool to be humble, up until he said he "aspires" to do what Kanye does.
>wanting Beck to be an alpha
>not realizing he is a lifelong Scientologist
It's called "good PR/management"
If Beck had spoken the actual truth (Kanye is a fucking retard and should shut the fuck up) a lot of people would've agreed with him, but a lot of people would've gone "Kanye dindu nuffin Beck a rayciss"
No point angering a bunch of tumblr and damaging your media on social media over an "award" no one really cares about.
Sounds like a cool guy.
Would make/do drugs with.
It's still frustrating, but yeah, I suppose they did do some pretty good damage control here.
Like I said earlier, I think they should just fight like men and get it over with. Winner get's Bey for the night, Jay-Z can host it and make bank of ticket sales.
>tfw this whole thing was a sham so that Beck, Kanye, and Beyonce can do a "Beck Vs. Bey&Kanye" tour
Beck makes better music.
Odelay is better than anything Kanye has made. It just isn't as popular, and Beck isn't a self important asshole who keeps saying he's a "genius."
If Kanye wasn't consistently touting the refrain of "I'm a genius, I'm Warhol" then NOBODY would care.
all jokes and exaggerations aside, he makes pretty good music. not amazing, but good and enjoyable.
morning phase is nice, but not aoty material. grammies dont mean anything though, so who gives a shit. dunno why kanye is such a little bitch.
i disagree but never thought kanye was special to begin with. i dont think beck is particularly great either, but I do like his music. i dont know why most of /mu/ insists on treating kanye was some kinda god though, i feel like i'm missing out on some big joke
>Beck doesn't give a shit about this whole thing and gives Kanye some credit for his music
>his fans want him to hate Kanye so bad they get mad and rage all over social media
People need to stop doing this.
I can't speak for all of /mu/, but personally I think Kanye is pretty good for a top 40 artist. There seems to be more effort in his music than most of the people he's compared with and he makes cohesive albums rather than a collection of singles. I don't think he's a god or anything and he's definitely a major asshole.
lol Jay Z's reaction as Kanye walks up the stage then back down
you actually thinks it's funny when the rich make fun of the poor? Even an extremely wealthy man cracking jokes about starvation?
I'm not talking anime message board funny, but real life funny
ITT: Beck being humble and a good sport gets him called a cuck. Why bother starting shit with Kanye? At the end of the day he's holding the Grammy, Kanye and Beyonce aren't. Handled it fucking perfectly.
oh it's not insecurity at all, it's actually relief and joy
it's the first time Kanye has overstepped his bounds in a moronically obvious way. earlier outbursts usually involved no-talent hacks or people that suck/are less talented than Kanye. You couldn't pick a better worse person to rip than Beck.
some other anon said it best, he acts like her autistic big brother as a consolation prize to not getting to be her man, and out of deference to jay-z for his entire career
the whole joke of this situation is that Kanye is the beta fgt (and I say this as a Kanye fan). he's an insecure little boy. Beck has always just done what Beck wants to do, and if anyone is down to come along for the ride, that's cool with him.
not knowing that Beck is one of the most sarcastic fuckers in the biz........
there's nothing greatly artistic about two mediocre rap albums so are you implying that Beck is really that devoid of any artistic merit? Which would be b8 if you weren't such a retard who probably believes the comment you posted
what? lol Odelay is one of the most sample-heavy albums ever made on Earth. Third only probably to Paul's Boutique and Since I Left You. You literally couldn't even legally make it today
I'm sure Beck just doesn't want the negative attention. He probably just wants to relax and hang out with his kids, and not have them see a bunch of shitty news stories about his "fued" with Kanye.
You guys really don't think beck respects beyonce and kanye west as artists? Can't we all just accept him as humble musician that doesn't want to get involved in all this drama and call it a day?
Well, FlyLo, Bruce Springsteen, and Lou Reed all praised Yeezus. I'd say it's popular amongst the musician community.
The only artists to publicly express their dislike for it were Azelea Banks and Hopsin. Need I say more?
>guy who makes intentionally shit records now praises intentionally shit records
color me surprised
insider who works with yeezy here. the thing at the grammy's was just for promotion and beck was in on it (beyonce wasn't tho). kanye's next album will be called "kunta kanye" and it will be a concept album about kanye's feelings on being a slave in the music and fashion industry and how he tries to be a good father in that hostile world. can't say when it will drop exactly but it will come as a free download when you buy the adidas yeezy's. it won't be on itunes and physical releases will only be sold at the upcoming kanye/rihanna tour
It looks unintentionally awkward and pathetic and tryhard. When this came out, Beck was basically the latest idiot one-hit-wonder nobody with a dumb song (Loser) that idiots managed to make popular.
Actually, Thurston Moore and Mike D had heard Loser, and were super impressed and hit up Beck. Thurston told Beck about the MTV interview opportunity. Beck said he wanted to do a tribute to his grandfather Al Hansen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Hansen), who was friends with John Cage (4:33 John Cage) and was part of a bizarre dadaist music scene called Fluxus. Thurston suggested the shoe throwing thing, and Beck thought it was a great idea and then just rolled through ad-libbing the rest of the interview. In 1994, when Kanye was 16 or 17.
Beck's forgotten more about being a weirdo provocateur than Kanye will ever know.
>Plebs like to watch their betters fight. The blood is real and it's cheaper than theater
I don't get it either. I mean beck's a great musician and he should've atleast deserved a grammy for all his other albums. But sjws don't realize that and is just butt blasted because their queen didn't win.
>sharing board with people who actually likes kanye west
>Not getting that Beck was being sarcastic
No wonder everyone fucking makes fun of this shitty board.
>this is literally the best you can do to defend this shit board
its long been held that the grammys, oscars, emmys, golden globes, etc. are about as hilariously unimportant as they are hilariously treated like they're the most important thing in the world by hollywood
the fact that kanye is even mildly concerned with who wins/loses just shows how fucking shallow he is
Well considering his dad was whatever the equivalent of a Scientology preacher was, he never really had a chance.
That being said, who gives a shit? I don't care about their personal beliefs as long as I enjoy their music.
The best artists are humble as fuck, perhaps realizing that they have the most selfish career in the world. Kanye makes a career out of appropriating other people's art so he wouldn't know a thing about it.
As shown by his comments that Beck should respect her artistry when she is only an instrument for dozens of songwriters and producers while Beck has a fourth of that even, he is Beyoncé's personal white knight or if you might say,
This is a serious opinion held by somebody that I know
I'm amazed that people think that Beyoncé is any good.
I understand plebs that like her because they're plebs and don't give a damn about music, but people that genuinely defend her and believe she has artistic merit are incomprehensible to me.
Some stuff from when RDJ won his award.
These people have to be ironic, Gaga wasn't even in the same category as Aphex.
>Mfw T-swift was one of the handful of people who weren't gigantic faggots and stood up for ELO
>actually unironically defending kanye west
you better be underage you pleb faggot
>one of the most over-produced, populist, lowest-common-denominator rappers with a ten man team behind every word and beat he has ever touched complains about someone that actually has talent, because he isn't respecting art
Kanye is a meme and the faster the industry stops backing him no matter what shit he churns out, the better.
I can see it now
>Kanye keeps pulling this shit
>his famous friends want none of it
>they quit hanging out with him
>releases a shit album
>Kanye gets drunk and openly blames everybody but himself
>becomes known as that washed up alcoholic that rants about the whole world hating him
I like Kanye, but this would be pretty sweet
There's also the other end
>he kills himself after bombing an album
>the massive interest garned by his interest makes the album a huge success
>he's known as another pop music legend together with john lennon or kurt cobain
>Pouring your heart and soul into a project and letting some loud mouthed faggot totally steal your moment
>Being a massive beta and not only taking it, but praising him after the fact and enabling his douchebag behavior
Beck has been in this business for more than 20 years, I think he had his share of dealing with people shitting on him and knows how useless it is to try to stand your ground against people that simply doesn't like your music.
He will make another awful song about it though. Please, just let him die and watch the black comedy biography titled "Yeezus on Yeezy" with Tyler Perry playing both Jesus and Kanye West.
Kanye West shows once again that he's an insufferable asshole. Which is funny because someone here started a thread saying they feel like he's a genuinely nice person last night before this happened.
Except that Kanye fans defend him as their personal jesus
