There is no deadline I think, I started a rap with an anon a few weeks ago (he made the vocals).

are the submissions so far uploaded anywhere or is everyone still finishing theirs up?

i dont think anyone has finished theirs yet

I swear these threads always get started right when I go to look for one. Not that I'm complaining.

Anyway, got a WIP here. One thing that's bugging me is the kick sounds differently depending on where I am in the room. How does it sound to you guys? Too loud/too quiet? Too bassy? particularly in the first 2 minutes

general opinions on the rest of it? recommendations? thanks!

An anon said something once about kicks sounding louder farther a way from the speaker cus of the frequency tails or something like that; I don't remember very well.

I like the clip, guitar sounds real high quality. I think the little drumsticks rimshot sound (the lowest pitch one of the two) is hitting too many times. And I think the track clips for like a split second on the left side at around 2:02 and 2:12.

The snare arrangement is good but I would pick a less 'sandy' sample. something more acoustic to go with the guitar, less electronic sounding, but maybe slowly shift it along to more electronic as the track progresses. Wish I could give more technical feedback but I'm not listening through my monitors right now.

Good job tho, man. I like it.

>kicks sounding louder farther a way from the speaker cus of the frequency tails or something
I would like to hear this theory retold. Not that I think it's bullshit, because there could be something to it depending on which scienctific phenomena is quoted, but as an acoustic engineer I oft perk-up when things like this surface.

Oh so it's not just kicks but low frequencies in general? And you mean not further from the speakers necessarily but in fact closer to the corners? And this sounds better and not just different, or more or less accurate? And is it all low frequencies that "goes to corners" or just some? hmmmm
>>
>>53467895
go put your head in a corner, bass happens
that's why bass traps and where you put bass traps
this is the forefront of knowledge in this field

I don't get footwork at all.
Is it really just looping 1-2 bar samples from tunes and popping some drums and shit on top of it?
>>
>no /prod/ subject line

jesus fuck how incompetent are you?
>>
>>53468030
that's what a lot of lazy footwork and juke producers do. I've found that it's that perfect crossover point between jungle, house, and hiphop.

Check out DJ Paypal's new EP if you're looking for something a little more dynamic.

>>53467072
There's not a lot of good modular plugins because they typically don't allow feedback or other cool self generating patches. That said, try reaktor
>>
would it be worth buying one of these if I use FL studio atm? Are there any other good ways to perform live?

great feedback, thanks. I see what you mean about the rim, I hadn't listened to it closely in a while

I dont mean to really come of as a dick but is it true that some of /prod/ucers like deadmaus, skrillex, zedd and other shit unironically?
>>
>>53468750
nah i think they just accidentally
>>
>>53468750
Skrillex is probably post-ironic.
He's fully aware of his status and he's sorry for what he's done, but he also has no intention of stopping.

>>
>>53468980
Well, yes.
There has to be a best and a worst in anything.
The terms only refer to the highest and lowest quality state.
Not where that state is compared to other things.
>>
>>53468952
also like the notsies

So I put this together on my phone in a short while. Thoughts on the mix/arrangement?

Its my first time using modular synthesis and holy crap it really kicks alotta ass. I'm liking it more than FM synthesis. I think I might change the way the modular synth comes in at the end so its not so sudden.
