Anyone heard anything about the new LSD and the Search for God album?

Also, finally got around to listening to this, I loved it way more than Loveless.
>>
>>53172651
I'm serious though. Anything significant from this millenia(apart from mbv) even related to shoegaze is digital- electronic, noise, ambient fusions.

maybe i just dont get rock music but i literally like a single shoegaze record from the past millenia. and i like to convince myself the foundations to cocteau twins are a lot more notable than the atrocities of shit rock music that followed them and that sound
watched beautiful noise and that am now completely convinced myself mbv is the only relevant rock shoegaze band

You know what's really boring about shoegaze? It's basically Loveless: The Genre. Every new album that gets praised seems to be evaluated on how close it is to Loveless. Hell most of /mu/ doesn't even like Ride which is the second-biggest classic shoegaze band.

All the shit that crops up and gets hype here is more copycat stuff in the Loveless template. After two decades you'd think they'd come up with something different. The only thing that sort of goes in a different direction is J-gaze and only because it's poppier and punkier, still not exactly a revolution.
>>
>>53173429
>most pure shoegaze bands are derivative and bland
You think you're the first to point this out? It's called "the genre that celebrates itself" for a reason.
>>

I thought the new APTBS was a bit dull, The Soft Moon was pretty good though, so NIN/Ministry sounding at parts

It's not really a joke, no.

Even something that sounds only a little bit Shoegaze-y.
>>
>>53175849
I wouldn't even know where to begin there's just so many, start with School of Seven Bells - Alpinisms on the chart I posted and just move down the line from there, I think the first row has a real bunch of female vocals, but the whole chart is probably over 50% female vocal oriented.

stop listening to it expecting "shoegaze". if you've read interviews regarding the album it's got a kind of anti-perfection, almost no-wavey feel to it. i think they released the most accessible tracks as singles. highlights for me are: love high, im so clean, i will die. last track sounds like an unhinged deerhunter song recorded with an ipod nano but mastered really well, its actually cool as fuck. don't write it off bc of the singles.

I'm afraid if they release another album, it would soil their near-perfect (I'm not that into Just For a Day) discography. It would probably be good af though.

Fuck the whole 'legacy' thinking, I just want new tunes. They've proven they're still capable songwriters and performers so why not?

Is there any news on a new Melody's Echo Chamber album this year?

They haven't (yet) but I figure it would be somewhat like a mix between Pygmalion and Souvlaki. There's no label trying to push them right now so it probably won't be another pop record but I think they realize Pygmalion was a bit of a dead end.
