Does anybody know any field recordings album of ice cracking?
This and Chris Watson's "El Tren Fantasma"
someone shared a bunch the other day
I got some blogs:
look for those in the archive you'll find the thread with more stuff
if you're just starting out, get a cheap portable handy recorder (either zoom or tascam). use those for a couple years and dont get anything fancy unless youre seriously committed. h4n is a standard issue.
oh you the guy who made the list, right
you know, I've been up until late night and sometimes I just take my time to listen to the city at night
lots of buildings around, and wind turrets
sounds great, been thinking about recording it
but equipment must be expensive around here
sorta off topic but does anyone know the field recording album of the guy recording a cave as he goes deeper into it. I saw it posted here a year or two ago and I can't remember for the life of me
they're great value for money, but they dont have the best pre-amps which makes a lot of recordists eventually move on to higher grade kit. definitely worth it if youre interested in field recording though.
