anyone got any recs for noise-rock inspired, loud post-punk like pic related or Viet Cong's s/t? this shit is incredible but I'm not well-versed in the genre and haven't found anything close yet
i like noise rock but i don't know anything about this band or cared to look into them tbh
is this actually "noise-rock inspired?"
>>52966451
Not noise rock inspired, also not post-punk.
>>52966555
well shit, what is it then?
bumpan

People seem to think anything slightly noisy that has guitars in it is somehow related to Noise Rock

I'm only parroting what I've seen it referred to on here. I like the sound a lot, so if you've got a better term for it I'd love to hear it so I can go digging with some different keywords

You could try to give This Heat a listen?
And I know that Chad VanGaalen was a pretty important part of the production process for both Women records.
His work tends to sound a little more polished and hi-fi, but maybe there's something there you might like?
>>52966451
Sonic Youth?
>>52967495
listening to that right now actually. big fan so far.
and hey, thanks for the lead. I'll check out what more of what he's done
>>52967508
any specific recs? I'm unfamiliar with Sonic Youth but from what I've gathered they have a varied discography
>>52967519
Ahhh yeah I wouldn't know where to begin, maybe A Thousand Leaves?
Actually, it just occurred to me that the best recommendation is probably White Light / White Heat by the Velvet Underground
>>52967535
haven't gotten into TVU yet either. Thanks a ton man.
>>52966555
How do you know it's not noise rock inspired?
>>52967519
He's right about sonic youth but do not start with A Thousand Leaves, that's totally whack. Go for Sister or Evol, they'll fit what you're looking for more.

>>52967639
damn this is really interesting and caught my ear immediately. great rec
>>52967563

I can't wrap my head around this album. I don't understand what it's trying to accomplish, but it just sounds horrible, annoying and unbelievably boring.
Help me understand.

I've only listened to their s/t but they are most definitely not bad . The only issue they have is forgettable production, which most music nowadays suffers from.
