2003 might have been the worst year for music in the decade besides maybe 2006.
my vote goes to 2000 or 2010.

2000-2002 were good years.
2003-2005 were just edgy "fuck Bush, end the war" albums like American Idiot. (not a fan of Bush, there were just hardly any good anti-Iraq War albums or songs, Killing Joke s/t and Demon Days/Dirty Harry being exceptions)
2005-2010 is the peak of landfill indie.

I Get Wet is 2001 but yeah I agree with you. Those three years of the decade were great until 2003 when everybody started hopping on the anti-war bandwagon and pretended they were Bob Dylan or The Clash "fight the power" types.
