You've sold out man, it used to be about the music man!

actual question: if your music is on spotify, couldn't you have your own stuff on repeat for a few hours/days and generate your own money?
>tfw only one person bought your album on Itunes
>tfw it was your mom
>>52800971
Not him but you'd probably spend more on electricity than you'd generate in revenue for yourself.
>>52800971
I'm not sure. I'd imagine not because that's just wonderfully exploitable.
>>52800920
we must be in the same band
What's the cheapest and easiest way to get music up on those services?
>>52801156
tunecore
>>52800971
It wouldn't pay off. You can try the same shit with Youtube
>>52801156
Distrokid is what I use. It's a flat fee and you can upload as much as you want.
>>52800920
What kind of music do you make?
>>52800920
about how much listens does it take to make these 3.31 bucks ?

Shitty guitar music with a couple of le electronic songs. None are good; i'd never link my stuff here because people would shit on it. I just do it for fun
>>52801534
Around 100 or so.
Don't you get like 0.0000000000000000000001cents per play on Spotify
>>52801597
evidently not you dim shit

I am scared of posting my music on /mu/ for this reason too. the struggle is real
>>52801597
I actually have no idea how it's calculated. It seems to vary depending on country
>>52801615
we should do a /mu/ ponzi scheme where we all listen to each others accounts on mute and then rake in the sweet cough syrup money
>>52801720
honestly I had no idea distrokid existed until now, I'm about to release my first album and I was just going to put it on bandcamp for free. But having it on spotify might be a good idea if its only $20.
tldr yes lets do that
distrokid seems good. anybody have any more impressions of them?
>>52801766
They're very slow updating the amount you've earned a month. But I think that's the stores more than just them. Other than that it's been fine for me.

i also had no idea until just this moment, this seems like a pretty handy way to get everything out at once
