Post your charts people
OP has the best taste on this board
no "that's what i call music" OP confirmed for pleb
the only library music i listened to was bruno nicolai - geminus
kind of liked it
Sun devoured Earth
Drive Like Jehu
MONO & Worlds End Girlfriend
nice taste, you should check out:
Dirty Projectors - Bitte Orca
Aoki Takamasa + Tujiko Noriko - 28
Son Lux - At War With Walls and Mazes
Have you listened to Palmless Prayer/Mass Murder Refrain?
this guy here
I like this chart, a lot man. Points on WYWH, Feels, Laughing stock, Yes, Flips, xiu, Panda, oM, ITCOCK, portis, cash, Magical Mystery Tour, Dog Problems, and big points for Congrats.
would recc Darkside's "Psychic," Conan Mockasin's "Forever Dolphin Love," Spaceman 3's "Perfect Prescription," and Miniature Tiger's "Fortress"
+MDTF and NOW THAT"S WHAT I CALL /MU/SIC 18
Kid A doesn't belong in top ten
y no R Plus Seven?
-Dark Side of the Moon
try The Brian Jonestown Massacre
I think that a few of your /mu/cores in other favs are actually top 4 and you're lying to try and seem original
hehe I like Slick Rick too
lol do you even have more than a passing interest in music?
The girl down the hall said I looked cute
I feel like Rudolph after that one doe said he was cute
>I think that a few of your /mu/cores in other favs are actually top 4 and you're lying to try and seem original
Bullshit. Not everyone has the same taste as you. So, fuck yourself.
Yeah man, an album that is one of your personal favorites definitely doesn't belong in your Top 10. What are you even doing? Pretty sure Radiohead released that album with the intention of it being good, but definitely not belonging in someone's personal top 10.
it's not my fault everyone in this thread has terrible taste
it would be unfair to pin this on him
better hope you have good looks to offset that terrible taste
uh huh, sure
why does everyone say Optimistic doesn't belong in the album? I think it fits in perfectly fuckin fine. It might not have the exact feeling that the rest of the album does, but so what? Do you feel exactly the same day to day? Nah, there's changes. It's a glimmer of hope in a sea of nothingness. It works VERY nicely after treefingers and eases right in to In Limbo
This'ns slightly outdated because topsters isn't loading and I have this one saved on my PC
It has most of them tho I think
If there are any missing ones i'd be glad to tell you their names
U lookin 4 a fite boi????
I know right
Plus she smiles at me when i'm heading out to get groceries
lol, i was being totally sarcastic man. I tried to make it as obvious as possible but when you're on /mu/ i guess it doesn't work, some asshole would probably actually say something like that.
>They have different taste than me
>Wow, must be bad
are you the kind of person who gets mad when someone likes/dislikes a food you do? I wouldn't be surprised
Sleeping, or in another thread.
I thought they weren't talking about straight Optimism though. "Dinosaurs roaming the Earth", "this one dropped a payload", etc.
I think it'd be better with less (or more interesting) guitars (thought part of Kid A was moving away from rock music?).
I recommend you listen to everything here until you get something resembling taste.
dalek, shugo tokumaru
Nice, you check out his stuff with Ground Zero?
Uh. Tim Hecker.
Good taste. White Suns. both Sinews and Totem.
Also Duster, Viet Cong/Women, and Giles Corey
I'm so unimaginative that I hold on to the routine of hobbies I've lost interest in.
you should check out jean-luc guionnet & eric la casa - home:handover. it's 4.5 hours but really great.
do you like jason lescalleet much?
wtf is this??? it is so disturbing and I dont know why. i must listen to it. what is the name?
>jean-luc guionnet & eric la casa - home:handover
Added to "LISTEN ASAP" document, sounds delicious
>do you like jason lescalleet much?
I dig Songs About Nothing and his collab with Kevin Drumm, but beyond that I haven't heard much. Thanks for reminding me actually, I told myself i'd jump into his discography but put it off then forgot altogether
his collabs with graham lambkin, TIWID series, the pilgrim, his first album with greg kelley, and mattresslessness are his strongest works imo if you are looking for a starting place
whats i s the faavorit track of the alternitave indie post punk rock experimental band SWANS? i like failure i guess, blood promise and uhm the one that goes on about big erections and is about turkish prison rape of a young boy, and uhhh, that one evangeline dah dah ddaaa daa song that is really sweet that probably got him real paid don't ya think? pretty good.
I'll assume i'm going in chronological order with those albums
Thanks a ton, I hear of him a bunch in /noise/ but sorta avoided him for some reason even though I love the soft, droney brand of noise that Yellow Swans/En/Kyle Bobby Dunn/him are known for
those aren't in chronological order, and I wouldn't recommend going in chronological order with him unless you plan to listen to his entire discography.
very little of his music is soft or "just" noise, but I think you'll appreciate it regardless
i'm takin a short piss down a long corridor friend
that one album where he doesn't even have a mattress is pretty cool and relaxing it's like dentist noises and then it switches to the left channel and it goes eeeeee a bit and then there;s a really bassy tone that shakes your head if you listen to it with high end IEMs and it's like mad harsh but in a really sparse way dude it's chill as fuck like the shit you listen to when you're drunk at 3am listening to luglymane and watching seinfeidl re runs
I think all of his music is worthwhile, but the ones I listed especially so.
The Pilgrim and his collabs with Graham Lambkin are the best of the bunch if I had to pick, but I didn't mention them with any order in mind.
hold up, wait a minute
your chart thread aint shit 'til you had some sanic in it
I've been on /mu/ for quite a while now but I'm just now getting around to making a chart. Has anyone else had an extremely hard time finishing their chart and/or deciding what's truly in their top 50? Cause that's where I'm at. Fuck, mane
Alright then, i'm on the case
Shad - The Old Prince
Shabazz Palaces - Black Up
Scroobius Pip - Distraction Pieces
John Oswald - Plunderphonics 69/96
Les Sculpteurs de Vinyl - Les Sculpteurs de Vinyl
Heritage Orchestra feat. DJ Yoda - G. Prokofiev Concerto for Turntables and Orchestra (on my chart, GOAT)
First time I made a chart I had to literally just put pictures of musicians in a few slots because I couldn't choose which album I liked best
also as a followup which one of these should i listen to RIGHT NOW??
just make a chart thats 80% reflecting your honest taste and 20% making you look cool. thats the easiest way to not hurt your brain
>why do I even bother
I'll tell you why.
Because I go through these threads. I'm a struggling musician. I am not young. I may give up. But then I hear something like This Heat: This Heat and can persist for another day.
I heard that album tonight and it may have saved my life. So thanks for the effort, anon.
do you have schizophrenia
Recommend me loud fast angry fighting music AND/OR sad and contemplative music to smoke a cigar to late at night
i redid my chart cuz it seems like people on /mu/ hate jazz altogether so it's useless to add it to the chart and everyone else does 1/artist
2many lightning bolts to rec
most of the bands on ur list i think r shit so it's hard for me to recommend :( :( :( :(
i mean it seems like ur pretty much there except for recognizing TMR as your lord and savior

The streets - Original Pirate Material
Also, you have Ol Dirty Bastard, but you don't have wutang? How?
Yea, I'm pretty stoked to give this a listen
No, see ^^
Apparently, you don't get it. I like rec's too
>i redid my chart cuz it seems like people on /mu/ hate jazz altogether so it's useless to add it to the chart and everyone else does 1/artist
that's not true. Jazz is great.
It's just those that do hate jazz are more vocal about it
you are seriously the most flamingly white person i've ever come across fuck dude
you're a sophomore right
that's fucking horrible
i've never read it actually
i was supposed to
but i'm a grossly illiterate and quite literally have the education of a 7th grader
neat, except Pip I've never been a fan
>i hope you puke
>Also, you have Ol Dirty Bastard, but you don't have wutang? How?
I only really like specific songs from Wu Tang as a group but I like ODB and RZAs albums alone. Wu albums would be in the top 100 but not 50. Also just fitting the other shit I like
there'sno other place than 1 for TMR if you dont agree your opinion means nothing to me
i havent heard any of those! You must have absolutely no life to come across such obscurities! many thanks
Townes van zandt is a talentless hack try again
surf rock is also shitty so is pretty much the whole beat movement
jazz wouldnt make sense on my chart also
for your reference, top jazz albums - solo monk sessions, black saint and the sinner lady, atlantis
im white as fuck but drink malt liquor and have a black gf so it turns out im not as white as fuck would have you believe
Great taste, listen to much Sunn?

i don't know shit about anything you have to kill me
i demand to be responsible for your next orgasm
good taste nigga listen to solid space

gris are really cool you're really cool

don't you just hate when you don't "shake" enough after you piss and little droplets of piss darken the color of the crotch area of your pants? and it feels sticky and gross?
>i demand to be responsible for your next orgasm
Maybe I should make a new one.
I'm still pretty entry level, I've only been here six months :(
I've literally more than doubled the size of my music library in the last two and a half weeks and I'm not even done yet, please send help, how am I ever going to listen to all of this music
>don't you just hate when you don't "shake" enough after you piss and little droplets of piss darken the color of the crotch area of your pants? and it feels sticky and gross?
I don't know what you're talking about, but that sounds like my ideal Friday night :|
My hard drive crashed and I lost a huge backlog of stuff I got from the whatCD freeleech
I don't know what you're talking about kids bop 6 was absolute shit
12 was much better
There are at least 10 albums on my chart less accessible than those, and quite a few more obscure so weird point. You can like different things though you know, I'll check that album though.
I got into hip hop this year
Please dont hate me
