So on the Open Day of the university I now go to, we all had to be interviewed by a member of the faculty. This was after being shown round the department in groups of about 15.
So I was kind of nervous, and it didn't help that the staff were essentially picking off applicants one-by-one and I was the last to get picked. However it was this American guy with long hair and a black t-shirt with some intense metal-style art on it, so he seemed pretty cool from the beginning.
The interview was short and quite casual, so I was pretty relieved by it. Don't know why though but I wanted to get on good (better?) terms with the guy, so at the end, when he asked "Any other questions?", I say, "Hey, what's that on your shirt?"
Guy explains it's some Nordic grindcore band which I've never heard of, nor do I have an interest in. Damn.
He says: "So what sort of stuff do you listen to?"
And I tell him progressive rock. He basically says "I respect that stuff, but it's not really for me".

All in all this wasn't too bad of an "interactuions" with someone else. But being the autist I am I come back to this memory now and again thinking "That could have gone better".

I'm not sure how this happened exactly, but our workplace turned metal as fuck. Well, I ended up being the guy that listens to the cheesy Japanese metal shit and other general nonsense. Couple other guys do death metal and grindcore all day. It's an interesting mix. Most people seem to respect my music tastes although I do kind of miss the days where I could freak out people by simply playing avant-garde stuff.
