getting kinda tired of share threads loaded with more obscure artists
i was thinking id make one dedicated to more relatively popular music you enjoy.
Quasimoto (madlib) - Yessir Whatever
>Hip hop, similar to unseen
Quit making these threads unless you're going to share something that's not in the archive.
because you're saying that the archive doesn't work in certain situations, that just means you don't know how to use it.
you're trying to defend this thread and I'm telling to look in the archive for similar threads to show you that they never work
because your response to >>51929666 was that the archive doesn't work sometimes. that gives me reason to believe that you just don't know how to use the archive so threads like these would be great for you
The wiki page has a section for sharethreads. Re: the archive, it just says: Please check the archive before asking for a specific album: http://archive.rebeccablacktech.com/mu/ (or its mirror: http://rbt.asia/mu/).
There is nothing about sharethreads being frowned upon.
no shit it's says nothing in there
but by the backlash in here that should be obvious to you.
like I said earlier just look at other threads like this and it will always have the same reaction
in normal sharethreads people tell you to check the archive for a popular album
in this thread you guys want to post albums that are in the archive already which only appeals to people that don't know how to use the archive
I'll try to explain it to you.
1. Person wants to find new music. Person doesn't know what they're looking for, just that they want new music.
2. When they go to a sharethread, they aren't looking for anything specific. If they are using the archive, they will have to use it to look for something they specifically want.
3. This kind of person most likely waits for new sharethreads to pop up and listen to the previews that sound interesting and download the albums with song previews that they liked, since they aren't looking for anything specific. It would be difficult for such a person to use the archive, because they don't know what they're looking for.
I browse sharethreads to find music I DON'T know about. Try again
>1. Person wants to find new music. Person doesn't know what they're looking for, just that they want new music.
okay, I'm with you so far. I even go into sharethreads not knowing what I'll get.
>2. When they go to a sharethread, they aren't looking for anything specific. If they are using the archive, they will have to use it to look for something they specifically want.
the thing is, the archive and sharethreads serve different purposes. You use the archive to download something you are looking for, you go into a sharethread to go in and grab music that isn't in the archive that others want to share with you.
>3. This kind of person most likely waits for new sharethreads to pop up and listen to the previews that sound interesting and download the albums with song previews that they liked, since they aren't looking for anything specific.
Yeah, that's how everyone uses sharethreads. That is their purpose.
>It would be difficult for such a person to use the archive, because they don't know what they're looking for.
Once again two different purposes. And in the case of this thread the one album shared and the one album requested are both in the archive already. If those two people had looked in the archive they would have been able to download those two things just fine.
Making a thread for popular music that is most likely in the archive is only appealing to people that either don't know how oor don't bother looking in the archive. I don't know how I could make this any more clearer.
I think that it's a strange idea to you because you realize that it defeats the purpose of what sharethreads are supposed to do.
well at least we're finally on the same page.
If nobody's sharing, I guess I'll start
The Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground and Nico
Hyrule Warriors OST [FLAC]
>Great "heavy metal" remixes of classic tracks, and some really good original ones too
Flying Lotus - Cosmogramma
>experimental jazz, psychedelic hip hop (WARP)
i'm going to take advantage of this dying shit thread to make a request and hope someone delivers..
im looking for a dload link for Libido - Libido, peruvian indie band. Can't find it anywhere so im hoping someone with a what.cd account can get it for me.
Just saying, you all should check out my sharethread for music you've never seen discussed on /mu/ before. Try something new for a change! It might even be good for you :^)
One Direction - Up all Night
haha, thanks tripfriend!
(for real though, if someone could hook me up with a 320 Bang Pow Boom Nuclear Edition, I would be very grateful. That album goes hard as FUCK)
COMIKET 86 RELEASES
TONS OF WEEBSHIT
YOU NAME IT

you guys dont seem to grasp the point of this. sharethreads arent only to put new things into the archive/find obscure music.
theyre there to find music you havent listened to obscure or not. yes threads like these (if it worked) may be filled with albums already in the archive. the point is for the reader of the thread to see albums they may have avoided for no particular reason maybe read what is put in the genre/description and be intrigued. granted i didnt have to post the link (because it is in the archive) i did anyways for anyone who didnt want to check the archive. theres nothing wrong with putting duplicates of a link in the archive
i look at share threads often and maybe thought it would be interesting to have a thread that wasnt full of obscure artists. i want to be shared music that isnt obscure because i tend to not enjoy as much. not off principle of it being obscure but because they tend to be not famous for a reason (not always obviously)
this thread failed not because it was dedicated to un obscure albums. rather because people took offense to it and everyone just kinda bitched about it instead. if everyone put aside the fact that it was different for a second and just did what it said in the start maybe someone wouldve gotten something out of it instead we got a pointless argument.
i would just be adding to the shitty-ness of this thread if i only posted this argument so heres another album. (the one ligitimate critique is i only posted 1 album that was stupid of me i apologize)
Modest mouse - the fruit that ate itself
EP similar to other early modest mouse. definitely has some standout tracks. its a little standout from the other albums in that it uses a few things a lot that tend to tie the songs together. a lot of reversed guitar and similar drum patterns in a few tracks
does anyone have a link to bloodthirsty butchers' album "kocorono"
i have been looking everywhere for it but no luck
I have a humble request.
I'm just looking for a bonus track. Mar, off of Joyland by Trust. Someone here must have it.
hey man i appreciate it. i unfortunately was gone for a lot of tonight and didnt check on this thread earlier. wish i had. i kinda hope that people kinda step up and it actually becomes a half decent thread by the end cause theres no reason these threads shouldnt work.
Mountain goats - Sunset tree
really touching concept album. lyrics/storytelling are john darnielles strong suit. true story of him coming to terms with the memories of his abusive step father right after his passing.
