Always in the market for some new guitar pedals and equipment. Recommend me your favorite gear.
It's not some high tech boutique nonsense, but my MXR Distortion + has literally MADE my tone
Also my Blackout Effectors Blunderbuss kicks ass
pic related is my baby
My pedal board consists of a Korg Pitchblack Chromatic Guitar pedal tuner, Way Huge Swollen Pickle Fuzz, Fulltione OCD Overdrive, ElectroHarmonix Holy Grail Reverb, and a Boss MT-2 Metal Zone I play through a Line 6 Flextone 100 watt amp on the Jazz Clean Amp setting and through the delay/compressor setting. I also use the line 6 floor board with wah a volume pedals and defult delay, reverb, and tremolo switches. I either play on a a Gibson Les Paul Studio or an Ibanez ARX320.
I'm in the market for either a ZVex Ringtone TT Ring Modulation Pedal, Earthquaker The Depths phaser, Or a Ditto Looper. Solid Gold FX Stutter Lite or Apollo phaser. I like unique shit.
Here are some websites i was browsing:
what would you consider an amp that doesn't blow?
i work minimum age. i'm not fuckin Jeff Beck.
I had an interest in a Mesa boogie triple rectifier. i had a vox 80 watt amp and a crate 200 watt amp. i think i've improved on sound quiet well.
i get that. i would rather make due with my amp and really work on my pedal game first.. If shit guitarists such as Mac Demarco and King Krule can get by with crap gear, I'm sure I can too. It's not like I'm play a First Act Strat on a Vox All In One preset amp, with all Boss and Digittech pedals. Once I get some more in the next decade and can commit toward a Mesa or Fender amp, I will. But as for now, I'll build up my pedal game first.
Mac plays a specific type of cheapo guitar that has a cult following because they sound fuckin great. IIRC he plays through a Twin or Deluxe Reverb.
Archie plays an assortment of Telecaster, ranging from MIM Standards to AVRI, through a Twin Reverb.
Opinions on pic related? I want to get some funky tones out of my LP without having to get a strat and it's apparently also cool for bass.
>marshall echohead eh1
>im a pleb
Much of Iceage's heavy sound comes from chaotic production style, bass and drums.
Anyway here's my guess for the guitar tone:
Theay are playing way too fucking loud with tube amp and boosting it even more with a clean boost or something like that. Maybe you should get a transparent overdrive (Rockett pedals, Lovepedal etc. you can't go wrong with those) and oldschool fuzz (colorsound, fuzzface etc.) and tweak around and you'll get to the ballpark quite easily.
if they were just playing with it dimed + boosted it would sound muddy as shit, even with all treble. I'm guessing it's just a tube amp with a TON of headroom and an OD/distortion.
Strongly recommend Earthquaker devices to everyone.
My pedalboard consists of
Eqd ghost echo reverb
Eqd sea machine chorus
Eqd talons OD
Eqd hoofreaper fuzz/octave
Eqd arrows boost
Mxr carbon copy delay
Dunlop cry baby
Fucking love everything eqd has ever done, really really solid pedals
How about you shove them all into your asshole and kegel them on and off until you sound like Omar Rodriguez Lopez? Seems to be what all the people I know with Earthquaker devices do.
Shill, tell EQer to spend their marketing budget on creating a non-hipster pedal.
Well, you don't want one of these. I just bought one and it doesn't work for fuckall, the hum is just as loud as ever only with an even more irritating random modulated noise.
Seemed like they worked on youtube demos, but does nothing for me.
whats the general consensus on the re20?
Sup gearwhores, poorfag here
I have a little challenge: try to find a good way/context to use my godawful setup (no guitars), I ran out of patience and creativity with it a very long time ago
-Roland 30x Cube amp (with all the integrated effects)
-Digitech Jamman (looping pedal)
-Boss OC-3 Octaver/Distortion
-Dunlop Crybaby (barely works and fuzzes like a monkey)
if you suggest new gear, think utterly low budget, like... I wouldn't go beyond squier for a new guitar tier
I was intrigued by your post, I checked out my local guitar shop's website and
>mfw my local guitar shop got an arrival of squier cabronita bigsby telecasters with a price tag of 429 bucks
Should I get this for myself ?
It's like, not even 300$
And it's so fucking eyesore yellow, I love it
Is Sterling by MM worth it ?
Anyone ever use one of these? I want a nice chorus for a Prophet 08 so it sounds less sterile.
yeah they have some cool new grestch-style pickups too, the fender ones have them on neck and bridge, but the squier only has one on the bridge irrc, usual single coil on the neck. i like single coil tone so that actually a better option imo
That RE-20 is a legendary pedal. I know that some people ever prefer it to the tape version. Another trick for loops is to pick up a cheap tascam 4 track and make a cassette tape loop.
Whammy 4 or 5
I've been wanting a whammy for a while and have been looking for used pedals on ebay. The 5 is always $20-$40 more expensive, is it worth it/ what are the major differences?
Big muff (tone wicker), and mini fuzz face are in there too now. Getting a Memory Boy soon.
My setup (no picture sadly)
Fender 70's classic player strat > some weird brandless wah pedal my dad bought somewhere in the 80's > micro Qtron (great pedal, envelope filter that doubles as a fuzz if you set the drive to 9 o clock) > mxr prime distortion (if i'm gonna replace one pedal it's this one because it sounds a bit too hair metal for my taste but if you set the tone to 9~10 it's brety gud) > mxr micro amp + > dunlop volume pedal > boss super chorus CH-1 > tc flashback stompbox > fender blues deluxe reissue (best. buy. ever)
I'm thinking about getting a polytune, a MXR blue box and a compressor/noise gate, any recommendations?
