Last one went really well, so I thought I'd bring it back so people can find more of the lovely weirdness that is the avant-garde umbrella. Previous thread: https://rbt.asia/mu/thread/S49561436
I'll be sharing Orphan School's "Secret Admirer", a freak-folk album with an interesting use of throat singing to make it delightfully creepy. It only suffers, really, from a very short length.
It's on his (their?) bandcamp for free: http://orphanschool.bandcamp.com/album/secret-admirer
>>49687737
freak folk =/= avant-garde.
also, you can't just make a sharethread and then share one bandcamp album. Another thread had to die because of yours
>>49687978
yeah, you THREAD MURDERER :)
>>49688048
man this sucks for that thread though
>>49688048
we're all thread murderers if you think about it :I
>>49688064
whoa dude
lol stoner logic hahah!
>>49688087
ha ha ha ! ha ! : >)
wasn't this supposed to be a sharethread
>>49688119
oh yeah
omg freak folk, so avant garde, with it's standard western tonality and rhythms.
>>49688134
congratulations on your reiteration
>>49688134
I-I'm sorry anon, I posted most of my avant-garde stuff in the previous thread...
>>49687737

Link [320kbps]: https://mega.co.nz/#!tJIj0BxS!VFLI2Rq-826w-UQTUtntmqY-ef4fwH5kAb68PKOB9sc
I got a bunch of stuff from a thread before this one, really glad though, I don't have anything to share myself, I just wanted to say that I really like Moondog.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtiyLzYn_xc
It's been a long time since I've been so blown away by discovering a new musician.
bumping for best thread on /mu/
bamp
>>49688635
neat
Well, this thread went nowhere.
>>49692119
Understandable.
Things like these should only happen every once in a while and not too often.
Mike Cooper - Rayon Hula
>hazy exotica, made from samples of some of Arthur Lyman's records, deconstructed, treated and reconstructed with lap steel guitar
http://www7.zippyshare.com/v/40433680/file.html
??~????~?? [Shu~Furuma~Ju] - 1?? [1 Hanashime]

>>49692721
Hope you enjoy it.
soundtracks for acute migraine.
>>49692922
I remember Good Morning Goodnight set off a migraine something awful when I listened to it.
Robert Ashley - Private Parts (The Record)
>hypnotically beautiful spoken word opera, one my favorite recordings of all time, no one likes or dislikes zeros
http://www23.zippyshare.com/v/89277362/file.html
Rest in peace.
???? [Kinshi Tsuruta] - Satsuma Biwa
>three heikyoku pieces, performed by Kinshi Tsuruta who was eighty(!) years old at the time of the recording, yet still performs with ardour
http://www22.zippyshare.com/v/75460691/file.html
Are y'all downloading these?
>>49693613
seems cool.
and yes i am
>>49693203
i've never been upset over an artist's death (except for maybe lou reed) but robert ashley's death upset me tbh.
>>49693613
>Are y'all downloading these?
Of course I am, these threads are the greatest thing I've found on 4chan in months.
>>49693913
T-This makes me so proud, especially for pretty much doing nothing but facilitate conversation and sharing...
Oval - Systemisch
>glitch, the second of the three albums of Oval as a trio, rather than the solo project of Popp
http://www13.zippyshare.com/v/40351911/file.html
>>49693710
Yeah, both him and Rashad this year made me really bummed out.
>>49693657
>>49693913
Glad to see that, would be cool if somebody else would share stuff ITT! Just names would be fine too.
>>49693613
Sure thing, downloading these
>Mike Cooper - Rayon Hula
>???? [Kinshi Tsuruta] - Satsuma Biwa
Thanks!
>>49694068

>>49692959
>Good Morning Goodnight
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hW0p9mrqY9s this?
but it's just good guy metalcore/pop punk (doesn't even sound bad)
>>49694117
Actually, I was thinking of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHs0LkixGvY
Got some nice EAI?
>>49694085
Would like this too, my collection of it is rather scarce. Here's a good one, either way:
Jérôme Noetinger & eRikm - What a Wonderful World
>eai

>>49694170
>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHs0LkixGvY
I see why this could give you a headache.
those high tones.
Truly a music for those desattached from the social dogma and those without cerebral circulation problems.
>>49688064
we are all people murderers if you think about it. we are complicit in a system that perpetuates violence and life threatening poverty.
>>49694968
This is absolutely fantastic, right up my street, any other of her records would be greatly appreciated
>>49695030
It's mainly because it sets off my tinnitus. Which sucks to have in the first place, but having it worsened isn't fun.
Almá Fury, Otani Yasuhiro, Otomo Yoshihide & Xavier Charles - High Tones for the Winter Fashion
>eai, French and Japanese improvisers are featured on this disc, with the French ones being the most prominent
http://www2.zippyshare.com/v/95908862/file.html
>>49695030
I find that album rather calming, though I can see why somebody might get a headache from it.
>>49695131
This is the only one I have, unfortunately.
Would appreciate if somebody else would share stuff, I am responsible for all posts except the two first.
>>49695059
stop robbing me of my blissfull and self indulgent ignorance
>>49695294
This anon deserves an award to his contributions to the brilliance of this thread.
>>49695030
> desattached from the social dogma
it's a great album - you don't need to plug it this way.
Anyone here into live-coding? Got suggestions for a good linux workflow?
>>49695294
Sorry bud, I have nothing, was just sponging off
Asmus Tietchens - Biotop
>cool electronic synth stuff, if you're a fan of Cluster you'll enjoy this

>>49695333
Thanks!
>>49695602
Tried Pure Data?
>>49695666
Hah, it's fine. If anyone has more stuff like that it would be appreciated.
>>49692678
Oh wow, this is some crazy shit.
I like it.
wonderful thread OP
>>49696006
yeah, I'm grateful too
>>49695976
Have some more Japanese wackyness:
????? [Tanoshii Ongaku] - ???? [Yappari]
>synth pop craziness from one of the Yapoos members and Morio Agata, sounds like the cover
http://www51.zippyshare.com/v/99245127/file.html
>>49696006
>>49696164
Thanks, although I'm not the OP.
>>49695966
thx doc
>>49695966
I used MAX/MSP for a while and it was fun - but I am looking for something non-graphical so that I can chain shit together using the CLI. Do shit like let people send text-messages to interact with the music being played.
>>49696512
https://overtone.github.io/
I haven't tried out this yet, but it looks very interesting. Clojure isn't really my favorite Lisp dialect though.
Anyone have some requests for some more shares? What kind of stuff would you like to see?
>>49696625
If such a thing as minimal glitch classical exists, I'd love to see an example of it. Something like the early stages of Program Music 1 but more glitchy and sparse.
>>49696625
This looks very neat - definitely gonna give it a whirl. Thanks!
>>49696688
The collaborations between Alva Noto and Ryuichi Sakamoto is the closest thing I can think of:
Alva Noto + Ryuichi Sakamoto - insen
>ambient piano from Sakamoto mixed with the glitches of Noto. a great album for people not familiar with glitch music
http://www10.zippyshare.com/v/1852554/file.html
>>49697056
>tfw I already have those and love them
Thanks for sharing it with the rest of us though, I'm always up for more people hearing their stuff.
>>49697105
Oh, here's another album which you might not have heard that fits that definition:
Donnacha Costello - Together Is the New Alone
>warm ambient glitches, a very cozy album fitting for the autumn season
http://www47.zippyshare.com/v/8630678/file.html
>>49697332
Anon confirmed best person on 4chan.
>>49697365
who could have forseen this!?
>>49697056
testify, brother!
>>49697365
:3c
>>49697440
Is this from the Insen Live DVD?
>>49697440
Sakamoto looks elegantly beautiful playing the piano in that light.
>>49697503
it is, yes.
>>49697508
I hope he's doing alright, he's currently on a hiatus because of his cancer. ;_;
???? & ???? [Haruomi Hosono & Tadanori Yokoo] - Cochin Moon
>think like a kosmiche Bollywood score, Yokoo is credited as one of the artists on this album but only did the amazing cover art
http://www40.zippyshare.com/v/67918620/file.html
I think I'm out for today, hope you enjoy the stuff I posted. Please try to contribute at least something if you liked the shares.
>>49695294
see, this is a guy that needs a trip. he is a reliable poster with good shit to share. you do not need a trip if you are going to piss and moan about stupid shit
and thanks for the uploads. i swear, im downloading about half or more of these (which is rare for me)
>>49698259
yeah like that jazz guy
>>49698259
>>49698350
Using a tripcode takes away what I like from imageboards, but I guess it's useful for finding shares in the archive. I like posting as anon because it makes people judge every post for it's own merits.
??? [Hiroshi Yoshimura] - Music for Nine Post Cards
>nine beautiful ambient pieces
http://www18.zippyshare.com/v/68552999/file.html
>>49698136
thanks
