Now, before anyone asks, there is hardly a central theme to these compilations other than "forgotten bands of the 60s", and whenever there is, such theme will probably be hinted at the name or the cover of the comp, so, I won't bother typing descriptions or giving samples, people who like it know what they're getting, and if you're not familiar with this stuff, this sort of comp started in the 70s, with the Nuggets Series by Lenny Kaye, who gathered a bunch of minor bands who had local and national hits in the 60s.

The Nuggets comps were followed by Back From the Grave, Garage Punk Unknowns and Pebbles, who focused on even smaller artists, and stuff snowballed from there.

For fans of the Sonics, the Music Machine, the Seeds and etc.
