What are some songs about heroin (or other opiates)? I only know of two off the top of my head...
"The Whit Lady Loves You More" by Elliott Smith
"When It Hits My Blood" by John Vanderslice
You got more, /mu/?
I'd like to think this is a double concept album all about heroin.
>tfw Lick My Boots
As a heroin addict, "Walkin' With Jesus" by Spacemen 3 is my favorite song about the drug. Also my favorite band -- all of their material, this album especially, are great to listen to while on dope/pills.
Rolling Stones - Brown Sugar, Dead Flowers
Nirvana - Aneurism
Guns n Roses - Mr Brownstone
Steely Dan - Glamor Profession
John Lennon - Cold Turkey
U2 - Running to Stand Still
Talk Talk - I Believe in You
Like half of Eliott Smith's discography
Drain You and Aneurism
Happiness is a Warm Gun
Lots of Spiritualized songs (Come Together and Cop Shoot Cop)
Lounge (Closing Time)
Spoon - Black Like Me
The Kills - Black Balloon (also the Goo Goo Dolls song but that one sucks)
Velvet Underground is too obvious
>he's not synesthetic
You can never fully appreciate music.
>I need a fix cause I'm going down
Yeah sure and they never wrote a song about LSD either. If I was massively famous and wrote a song about heroin I wouldn't admit it to the press either.
Well sure, heroin is a really broad topic when you're an addict. You can sing about how happy it makes you, how miserable you feel to kick, the romance of hanging out with a girl doing heroin together, feeling like a scumbag doing heroin in a public toilet but enjoying the social role, getting back on heroin after being clean for awhile, going through the hassle of buying heroin from scummy dealers, the cognitive dissonance you feel when you're a successful musician with lots of money and feeling distant from street addicts...it's a limitless well of emotions and I recommend heroin to all creatives.
aw shucks nigga i thought the nigga said jeff buckley again i was like damn wut dis nigga keep askin bout dat nigga fo but den i realised it said tim buckley and i un even kno who dat nigga is lmfao i hit da blunt too damn hard cuh lmao smh
I mean broad like, they aren't about anything specifically....they are vague on subject matter, but specific emotionally. I don't think it's fair to assume because he was a heroin addict he was always writing about heroin.
Eh, depends on what you count. It's not like any song has one and only one topic, lyrics and the music itself is inspired by lots of subtle factors. If you hate yourself because you feel hopelessly addicted and you write a song about self hatred does that count? Anyways he has lots of songs that explicitly reference heroin use but yeah it's not literally every other song.
(Why was amy so based?)
Songs about getting high in general.
i lurk /opi/ a lot and according to them it's to hard to get a good pull of oxy, with all the filler they put in the pills, basically swallowing is the only way to assure getting over 90% of the oxy in your system.
no rush of course though
Oxycontin or like 5mg pills are worthless, but blues are great for shooting imo. I'm really addicted to the pin though, I love the rush, the ritual, everything about it.
