What genre requires the least amount of talent to create music?

My vote goes to Folk or Punk
>>

'Indie'

Rap

noise

Ambient
>>
ambient

punk requires energy, stage presence and stamina
rap requires worldplay and the ability to craft a beat
ambient is just fucking pressing pad synths most of the time
>>
>>49085730
>sing
>>
>>49085773
or slowing down Sigur Ros songs
>>
harsh noise.

so easy to do, so hard to do well

>these (this?) plebs

If you do it poorly, it's all easy.
>>
I've made folk and dabbled in vaporwave. They're both frighteningly easy.

so close...
>>
shoegaze/dream pop

ambient

I fucking hate ambient, something about it seems so pretentious. That being sad, I don't have any idea how much skill actually goes into making it, but it seems pretty damn easy.
>>
>>49085794
Were you the guy who went by 'teenage hikki' or something like that
>>
seriously? it's synthpop guys. it's all the same thing
>>
Ambient
>>
Vaporwave
>>49085730
lol no
>>
>>49085847
how can you hate ambient its so chillaxin' and pleasant.

In fact, I'd say its very unpretentious because its generally meant to be background music for reading and lying in bed.
>>
Brostep. Ever used massive?
>>
Lowercase
>>
my vote goes to ambient too
>>
>>49085773
I make ambient music for this reason. But i'm guessing that a lot of the people who are really good at it spend a lot of time getting their synths perfect, and layering and mixing them perfectly. I'd say it's about as difficult as making trap beats, so, not very.
>>
>>49085927
I'm now realizing that one of the biggest douchebags I ever new in highschool liked ambient and thought he was really edgy for it, and that's why I dislike ambient.
>>

nope, not me

I can dig it

at least a trap beat is expected to be catchy
>>
metal
>>
anti-art
>>
>>49085773
i agree
good ambient does take talent and mostly artistic vision, though
>>
>>49085946
ever tried making it listenable?
>>
folk is at least the simplest and cheapest
>>
I think the answer is objectively punk because a certain amount of musical ineptitude is basically expected. Also good production is neither encouraged or expected.

rap... you just need to make poem about the life in awful cities and talk funny
>>
no wave
all they tried to do was make as much random noise as possible
>>
>>49085923
This

Just look at the drake & josh album
>>
>>49085730
Agreed.

>don't have to have any vocal ability
>don't need to know how to play an instrument because everything is sampled
>don't have to have any poetry skills beyond that of a 6th grader
>just have to talk over bits and pieces of music you stole

Rap is the cancer killing music, I can't even like it ironically
>>
Karlheinz Stockhausen music.
He just put random shit and say is music. And noone want to say that is shit because they dont want to look like ignorants
>>
I think a good point to raise here would be that it can be difficult to make any genre sound really good. But if we're just talking about what is the easiest possible thing you can make and it still be within the genre i would say vaporwave.
>>
>>49086165

Nope. I fit right in with the rest of the brostep creators.
>>
>>49086242
Samples are not used nearly as much as they used to be. Still think rap is a simple genre but this is not a valid argument.
>>
>>49086288
yeah you can push the Play button lmao

this. making a good punk/folk/rap/ambient song isn't the same as making one no one's gonna listen to because you half assed it thinking it was easy.
>>
>>49086048
i hope you aren't talking about me. everyone knows me as "that dark ambient guy", but i don't remember ever thinking it was edgy. actually, i've always tried to get people to notice the other parts of my taste more.
>>
As long as the music is of good quality, talent is irrelevant.
>>
>>49086392
No, this guy was just a geniune asshole. Incredibly manipulative, and had this "I'm better than you" way about him.
>>
>>49086383
and as time goes on it gets harder and harder to top the last wave of musicians in the respective genres to keep up with the times
>>
>>49085696
definitely Rap.
>>49085730
see
>>49085753
>>49085773
meh, still more talent than Rap.

Anything with the experimental/avangarde tag

Field recording
>>
>>49085714
yeah seconding this. that's not to say good indie artists are devalued in any way, it just seems like this genre/style/place/thing has spawned a fuckton of useless "musicians" (usually trendy teens looking to project an image).
