Upload ones you've made, and/or ones you've saved. I think flowcharts are great for people wanting to get into a certain musician or band's discography. I actually made a few. Some input would be great on them, thanks! The first one, pic related, is shit though.

why does there need to be a flow chart for 4 fuckign albums

Post-Punk. Found on some other flowchart thread.

>>48984415
these are all really silly. unless there's 10+ albums why would you need a flowchart? let alone for 4 or 5?
>>48984415
Well that makes zero sense. How is the instrumentation in Funeral similar to The Suburbs? If you enjoyed the lyricism on Funeral, you may enjoy the Suburbs - seeing how they both largely deal with transitioning into adulthood - but there's nothing immediately similar about the instrumentation. Funeral's instrumentation is much more robust and orchestral, whereas The Suburbs is more expeditious and poppy.
>>48984513
I suppose so. I'm kind of picky when it comes to listening to music generally, so I guess I wanted people to find what they like in albums from a new band/musician they want to get into.
>>48984415
Awful. Did you make this?

I didn't make these actually. I don't even listen to Arcade Fire that much, and I have to agree with you. I found it on some blogspot webpage.

This is pretty cool. I'm really into BMSR and Tobacco. I wish I could have seen tobacco live when they came to my city...
>>48984628
Then why the fuck do they say "made by kissy" in the corner? Are you just that desperate to be looked that you will either lie about but making them or actually steal other people's images in hope people will like them? What the fuck is the point in that

Neon Bible is very similar to Funeral, and Suburbs is pretty far away in terms of instrumentation
>>48984473
Fuck me, this is a good flow chart.

My flowchart for someone trying to get into STRFKR would be their discography in order because to be honest, it's pretty short

Is there a flowchart on synthpop or anything relating to synth?

No, but there's this. I'd recommend starting with New Order's Power, corruption and lies

>>48988766
That chart is an abomination.
>>48989391
Holy shit this is awful.
>>48989392
I don't have a flowchart but you should probably start with 1, 2, or 3, and then listen in chronological order just to see how his sound evolves. There's an album or two that are just covers that are probably safe to skip. I also didn't listen to his country stuff and I think those are full of covers too.
Still half-ashamed of this, but someone might find it useful.
>>48986375
The bottom delivers the keks.
>>48984473
That's a good chart.
You could probably rename it to "how to get a /mu/drone into electronic music" though.

Sharon Van Etten.
>>48985737
yeah for real. someone needs to do this. lord knows though it would be a challenge to pick about 10 of their +800 of their records (not including the insane number of side projects) to give a groundwork for getting into these guys.
anyone got one for The Microphones/Mount Eerie?
Coil
>>48989392
Get Scott 4 AND Tilt first. You can't just start with one Scott Walker album, his early and late periods are completely different from each other.

>is there an essential drone chart?
1-create a new rym account.
2-Rate the most rated drone releases (or for the sake of simplificy the best rated ones with drone genre), until you receive some recommendation.
3-Continue rating the recommendations
3.1-If you stop receive recommendations, go back and listen to most rated drone albums you didnt rated yet (or for the sake of simplicity the best rated ones) until you receive recommendations

Or Can Ox or Return to the 36 chambers or Supreme Clientele or Miseducation of Lauryn Hill
They could just lead off from funcrushplus, 36chambers, and the score respectively as well
still a really good chart.
Just updated this morning to account for the new album.
Hey, I just wrote a guide + flowchart for Sonic Youth if anyone's interested. Comments and constructive criticism are welcome.

>goo
>more commercial than
>daydream nation
Overall, I think you've got a nice chart there, but I just can't get behind your description of Goo compared to Daydream Nation. Your progression is pretty good, but I just don't think those two albums fit nicely into your flow of their discography.
>>48994478
What if I don't think "good! more!" after I listen to Goo. Am I just fucked and in a dead end?
Same with Murray Street, Sonic Nurse, Rather Ripped, and The Eternal.
and Sister and Evol.
>>48994620
Just backtrack
>>48994500
Thanks!
Goo is actually one of my favourite Sonic Youth albums, but I know not everybody feels the same about it — I tried to sum up the different things I had heard about it.
>>48994620
Backtrack and try something different.
>>48993238
This is great, Anon.
>>48993278
EL-P is definitely more than most shit in this chart. His name is no even listed and the best album he produced is missing.
>>48993278
Why did whoever make this choose to use a slightly darker hue of blue for the album titles and artists?
>>48996447
I think it's meant to fade in when needed and to minimize any cluster.
>>48996444
Added :)
>>48996603
yeah exactly
>>48985678
Dude those flowcharts are for STRFKR, Passion Pit, and Arcade Fire. I really dont think anyone is going to have a hard time figuring out any of those bands.
