I predict 90s digital sound nostalgia on the rise and then it will happen. People will dust off their korg M1s.

>meaning like what, too much on the house side these days?

I feel like people have to put soul influenced electronic up against noise and minimal influenced stuff. The trends seem to go real far one way or the opposite.

Detroit stuff blurs the lines a lot and wouldn't fit. It would be like having an Orbital revival.

Fav release(s) on P.I.E.S. and related lads?

Really digging Person of Interest's releases - they seem somewhat overlooked too.

Top-tier for me tho is 4 Club Use Only, YYYYYYYY, Sark Island Acid, Tarifa.

Also thoughts on that recent Florian Kupfer?

ZHU - Faded and Oliver Heldens - Gecko have both been in the UK top 3

Well guys, The UK house revival is going to die soon.

The latest trend is "Future House" which is pretty much Tchami and Oliver Heldens.

Its what EDMfags call deep house

People are getting tired of the massive snare build up and "1,2,3, JUMP!" nonsense and think that future house is cool

EDM producers are playing it in their radioshows and a few producers are even trying their hand at it. The amount of copycats of Tchami and Oliver Heldens is massive.

Problem is, all of it sounds so goddamn similar and disposable itll die within this year.

They will most likely move on to the Majestic Casual type shit as a last ditch attempt which they'll get bored of even quicker.
>>
>>48840421
ah I may have misinterpreted OP's statement as being more cynical than it was - I just feel like as somebody needs to actually ask the question, is Jeff Mills really a huge cut above the rest like everybody seems to act
>>
>>48840341
where I live its all about a 'Jackin' house' revival originating in the north of the UK (with producers like Lorenzo/Billy Kenny/Domzi boy etc)
>>
>>48840341
thank fucking god.

Guys like Disclosure and Julio Bashmore will never ever appeal to Americans but Tchami and Oliver heldens deff will.
>>
>>48840504
i'm not sure i'd say he was a cut above the rest as such, but he's definitely THE definitive detroit artist and dj, perhaps more so than any of the belleville three

that said his skill as a dj is phenomenal and he's definitely a cut above the rest in that respect. even though his mixes have the odd fuckup you can totally overlook them

yeah, jackin house is another name for it, albeit a much better one than future house. EDM fans use the term future house

stuff that sounds like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPioLizQKuc

>>48840610
Gesaffelstein will never get as popular as these guys though, and hes also moved away from making techno this past year

Honestly it's suffering here in murrica if you're a huge fan of this stuff. Most people here have no clue what the fuck this is about. At least in yurop there is an entire culture behind this shit. Here at least in Miami, people are so goddamn ignorant and don't know any better. It's like they think boring tech-house is the pinnacle of electronic music or some shit just because they can "mix easier" with it(they've actually told me that). It's literally the only reason I get gigs here. I am like an alien with these people when if I played in yurop, I'd probably just be like any other young, enthusiastic DJ there.

People here make it a big deal because I play vinyl too when to me, it's just like any other format. It's all about preference to me but to them it's like I'm trying to get "cred" or some shit. I remember some chick I met making a big deal that I have colored vinyl and thought I bought it for the "pwetty colors!" when I really just bought them because I like the tracks in them.

>mfw all of this shit

>>48841353

>>
>>48841218
haha man I hear your struggle - I live in London where people live and breath electronic music so at parties its often a competition to see who can drop the biggest new track...weirdly enough though people are still equally narrow minded and where previously the odd singalong soul or even indie tune would go down well at the right point - some people now won't have anything except the most experimental/dark/minimal stuff
>>
>>48841397

That's why I always bring 2 flash drives with me along with my wax to any club I have a gig at. You just never know, man.
>>
>>48841462
just drop out of space and everybody will go mental
>>
>>48841218
>At least in yurop there is an entire culture behind this shit

If it makes you feel any better it's less prevalent than these threads would have you believe. If you live in London or a big city with a large student population, then yeah you'll get more people who are into underground electronic shit rather than just Avicii - Levels.

But it's not like that everywhere. For example, I live in the exact middle of the country (in the east midlands) and even within uni I only know one person who actually knows about new and current electronic producers and what releases are doing the rounds and what big stuff is coming out soon etc. And even that guy is from London, I don't know anyone who is from where I am who gives a shit about it at all. Cetainly not to the same extent I do anyway but I definitely take it too far so that's understandable.
>>
>>48841510
yep yep, either drop the prodigy one or just the original depending on the atmosphere - its in that sphere of timelessly well known dance tunes that get dropped all the time at festivals (like the old ed case remix of clint eastwood)
