healthy monday afternoon /bleep/ thread
what's everybody listening to?
>tfw the chavs have finally been purged from /bleep/
What you think of this tune guys?
Sounds a lot like pic related.
yeah i mean its hardly an original idea lol
pretty big tune
All about this cut for me on that EP, i should really pick up the vinyl before it sells the fuck out.
Hey isn't this a coincidence, the quality of the thread has suddenly improved.
Why does L.I.E.S keep putting out a record every week?
Im losing track over here.
i don't get you guys
post any music that's even slightly un-urban
>get out, that isn't bleep enough
but if an actual urban person arrives in the thread
>get out, shitposting, hurr durr
it's like a weird middle class circlejerk
it's genuinely three or four shitposters who share the same some sort of stupid, misguided dogma that they're trying to force on everyone else, and not realising that it's wholly contradictory because of the fundamentals of grime, garage and jungle
though at this point i'm almost convinced it's just the one lonely guy
fuck you hipster lo-fi cunts.
ill be in the most road thread on /mu/
mate i was the first person to post this what the fuck are you talking about, i made this image.
yall know kode9 lurks these threads right?
i asked him if he ever went on bleep and he said yes, shame he keeps pushing all the stuff hes putting out now.

Jesus christ wtf happened to you /bleep/.
Originally rave culture was about diversity and acceptance, but when you step into these threads it feels like a room filled with gritty university lads throwing shit at each other because they can't accept that different people listen to different sorts of electronic music. Here's a fucking tip you pretentious fucks, HOW ABOUT YOU STOP FUCKING SHITPOSTING AND TALK ABOUt THE MUSIC YOU LIKE INSTEAD? IT'S NOT THAT HARD! Oh, and get a job.

N O W
Hey /bleep/,My name is Richard, and I hate every single one of you. All of you are fat, retarded, no-lifes who spend every second of their day listening to stupid ass lo-fi music. You are everything bad in the world. Honestly, have any of you ever gotten any pussy? I mean, I guess it’s fun making fun of people because of your own insecurities, but you all take to a whole new level. This is even worse than jerking off to pictures on facebook.Don’t be a stranger. Just hit me with your best shot. I’m pretty much perfect. I was captain of Roll Deep, and I wear a Rolex. What music do you listen to, other than “the sound of jacking off to naked drawn Japanese people”? I also get straight A’s, and have banging peng girlfriends (They just blew me; Shit was SO cash). You are all faggots who should just kill yourselves. Thanks for listening.Pic Related: It’s me and my bitches
>tfw you will never be Greg Beato
post your igonant degenerate /bleeps/ ITT
fuck da nerdz
Ahahaha look at this kid. You know nothing son.
oh my god bro
AFX played this in one of his sets, dubstep confirmed for bleep https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuWsNh2Cg3E
>AFX played this in one of his sets
look stop making up lies to justify your poor taste in music, afx wouldnt even touch those mindless dancefloor loops.
seems like xxyyxx is simply beyond you. do you just lose interest when an artist doesnt simply DROP DA BASS or has melodies?
stopped reading right there you are the cancer killing the /bleep/ threads,
please all this anti-intellectualism is just pathetic, why do you pander to lesser music... white guilt?
Can we get back to some discussion, i mean any would do, remember like we used to before the flood of summer chavs that are deseperate to shitpost about grime, dubstep and drum & bass.
god fucking damn, i haven't seen a post with even the slightest amount of intellectual thought put into this week.
>stopped reading right there
So did you read my whole comment? lel, good thing
>please all this anti-intellectualism is just pathetic,
ok, that was beyond fedora
I'm not even white
You are trying too hard to troll man, you need to chill out a little bit
not even him but im not american and im asking you one final time, stop chavposting.
fucking bellend just because all you seem to enjoy is shitty sub bass, moody tracks and fucking dancee floor loops doesn't mean you have to enforce shit taste on everybody else in the thread.
fuck me, you chavs must be bored all you do is persist in shitting up /bleep/ you have /grime/ now. go post there. or maybe /chav/ would be more appropriate. go enjoy your dancefloor moronic loops with no visual aesthetic or direction whatsoeverl, you fucking chav.
>dancefloor moronic loops with no visual aesthetic or direction whatsoever
this is the main thing i hate about the chav sub genres of /bleep/ it just seems so throwaway and trashy.
These threads are a pathetic shadow of their former selves. Constant arguing and deliberate shit posting... and fucking homophobia yesterday. Sad.
Maybe it's because it's summer and the threads are now full of bored school kids, I dunno.
Like someone said yesterday, exam period and the weeks before it were a golden age for this thread. I don't think it's a coincidence. Though, honestly, /bleep/ was doomed to fail from the start because it was a part of /mu/.
I don't really understand how grime or drum and bass ever came into discussion in /bleep/ threads.
At the start we would mainly talk about techno and house and there was good discussion but in the past few threads it would seem summer showed up and wanted to shove the 'grime revival' and 'drum and bass is still kicking' down everybodies throats.
fuck you chavposters. you are the cancer that has killed /bleep/ nobody in those respective genres is even making tunes, nobody even gives a fuck.
it's weird seeing all the exclusivity in here when the scenes in question wouldn't even have happened if everyone had that attitude
it was like this in the early 90s with detroit techno purists in the uk
i never once met a detroit techno purist in detroit
There's always been a good deal of it bubbling away under the surface, and there have been periods before where nothing of value was posted for consecutive days, but it's got a lot worse recently almost entirely due to boredom, it seems.
A lot of the good posters go quiet when the shitposting reaches a certain threshold
>doesn't mean you have to enforce shit taste on everybody else in the thread
oh the ironing
It's just you here now, yelling at everyone to stop liking what you don't like. It's pretty sad mate.
Oh and heads up if anyone else cares, theres a bunch of hessle re-presses up on redeye. Copped me those Elgato tunes (fucking yes finally) and Raw code.
fuck off you degenerate chav, like you would know anything about art or visuals standing the test of time.
the best art direction you would have ever seen is the crappy artwork mopped up in photoshop in a few minutes by the grime producers degenerate weed dealer.
At least Ron is a visual person, who the fuck can you name that has curated something as strong visually and audibly as L.I.E.S in Grime or Drum and Bass? exactly, you can't.
Both are throwaway genres of bleep music, favoured by chavs for being so easy to understand being so accessible.
Don't be trying to knock what good labels and producers do, stop defending shitty non-bleep genres in these threads.
I wouldn't waste your time responding to chavposters anymore, they never learn.
They actually think they have good taste and that we are being elitist for not wanting anything to do with music that will be forgotten in a few months time.
Let the degenerates be degenerates.
Mods, please permanently ban all these posters and watch /bleep/'s quality skyrocket in seconds.
>posts moodymann as an example of non-degenerate non-dancefloor loops
fuck off you fucking chavposter listening to your repetitive nigger music. i bet your wearing a snapback right now.
And also these >>48804329 >>48804364.
Thank you for your time.
It's so fucking depressing. This was the only salvageable part of /mu/ and they had to bring it down to their level. I honestly think I'm done for good.
Moodymann isn't dancefloor loops its intellectual if anything, i can't believe i have to use that word but there is no other way to get you chavposters to listen.
Could you just fuck off and listen to wiley or something you complete and utter moron.
You probably like drum & bass, you fucking cunt.
please stop replying to anyone who mentions the word 'chav' or 'degenerate' in their posts, it's feeding them so hard
i think it's 2 guys atm
it's clearly just shitposting, no one in their right mind would come to here and try and tell us that we need to be discussing aphex twin and boards of canada, and stop discussing hessle audio, with any serious conviction
We are trying to discuss the deeper side of /bleep/ music and all you chav summer pricks want to do is shitpost about how you are upset about us not wanting to discuss grime or some other degenerate bullshit music with you?
please sunshine, educate yourself.
this music was getting discussed wayyy before summer, man.
in fact, it's summer which has brought you guys in here trying to tell us what we can and can not discuss in here.
please, just let it be, jesus. i don't even like grime and drum and bass, i couldn't give less of a shit. just stop the retarded arguing, for crying out loud
I have made no mention of BoC, Afx or hessle audio.
I have lurked most of the thread.
this is me.
and ofcourse this post is me.
You dont seem to understand, that you are in the minority, as of now anyway and you are the people bringing bleep down, i use the word chav as its the only way i can identify people that are low enough to listen to grime or drum and bass.
If we don't try to counter you, /bleep/ will eventually just be a shit heap that you summer chav lot have ruined.
no, it's you guys trying to argue who are bringing the threads down
don't you see? it's the arguments themselves ruining the quality of the threads
if you hate that music so much, IGNORE IT. just ignore it, and discuss what you want to discuss
You're not "trying to discuss" anything. You're mindlessly shitflinging and have created the invisible scapegoat of the "chavposter" to use as a target for everything you dislike, while at the same time to elevate yourself to look like some supreme tastemaker who only listens to "intellectual" dance music.
Grime and everything else you probably don't like has been discussed on /bleep/ ever since it's inception. The fact you're unaware of this proves that you haven't been here long and are deliberately trying to start shit for the sake of it.
Oh, right, you're from /pol/. Why am I even bothering? This is the same guy who couldn't grasp that gay people listened to dance music, isn't it?
>mfw this thread
fuck all of you chavposting degernates.
The amount of autism in this thread, on both sides is disgusting.
im done, fuck this place.
All he does is repetitively loop other peoples music on his MPC. How is that intellectual you fucking chavposter you dont know anything about music. Stop trying to prove something. all his songs follow a linear dance structure. it is disposable music and not artistic in the slightest.
actually intellectual music:
When will you fucking 'intellectual' types realise that the real degenerates here are infact you.
Grime and D&B are actually very intricate and very well though out pieces of muisc, the fact that you shitheads don't recognise that we have a strong visual aesthetic is part of the reason you degenerates are still caught up listening to all that lo-fi bollocks Resident Advisor is feeding you.
You people are in the fact problem, you people are the chavposters and /bleep/ will not die because of you fucking degenerates.
Thats right, grime is /bleep/ shut the fuck up with that shit.
>actually intellectual music:
>Venetian fucking Snares
>one of his worst albums to boot
I'm not even that guy, but jesus fucking christ. Summer is real. I didn't want to believe it.
I can't believe people actually order records from this guy, I'm convinced it's people with too much money than they know what to do with and are just spending it because they can.
I can look over all the shitposting or 'chavposting' but damn i think only a few months back the most shitposting (if you could even call it shitposting) was that anon that did a 10/10 impression of zomby.
I've tried to get copies of Zone/Luv Zombie, Fram and Raw Code in so many UK shops and not found them, and I don't want to do individual orders of a near mint copy from batshit nowhere on Discogs, so to get them all in a single order would be nice.
And I don't care about their resale value, I just love Hessle Audio.
i'm not saying the tunes are bad, some of them are perfectly acceptable
if a bit clean
just i dunno, i like to hear new things, and i was there first time round
obviously you can discount my ramblings as those of a lost old man
nah, it's cool. i think we're on a wave of nostalgia right now that's not even exclusive to dance music (see: vaporwave, new doom bands like acid mothers temple, hardcore scenes, whatever) and revivalism is unavoidable. people are probably burnt out on futurism
i don't think it will last that long really like all trends
admittedly not, the low end is probably good though
it just feels cheesy, i can't really put my finger on it. reminds me of runescape or something. he has much better tracks
isn't it obvious? so DJs can use it
it's not 'electronic music' you're thinking of, it's dance music
obviously CDJs exist now, but that hasn't always been the case. because of the whole dubplate culture thing, pressing dance music onto vinyl is also kind of a tradition as well as functioning as a service to DJs
Fair point but it strikes me as anachronistic.
Digital DJing interfaces have evolved to superiority.
- Flawless sound quality
- No degradation
- No carrying crates of vinyl. USB SSD holds entire library instead.
Hmm. I can see where you're coming from with cheesy but I don't see it that way at all. It has the chord progressions and stuff in the buildup, but that's just there so that when the sub kicks the chords can drop away and leave that grimey melody floating on top of the bassweight
in order to subvert this absolute cancer thread, we now post the best song that /bleep/ has ever shown us and reminisce as it burns to the ground
This whole vinyl vs digital argument is age-old, and in dance music in particular you are not going to get staunch vinyl DJs switching over to digital if they don't feel like it.
like i said, its a tradition, and often DJs like the hands-on feel of using vinyl. mixing with it feels like you're more attached to the music as well. there's an interview with ben ufo where he talks about vinyl adding more unpredictability to his sets which he enjoys, but he's a mainly digital DJ anyway.
a lot of labels and artists feel that people should be buying their music physically, as not only does it mean you're giving them more money but it also shows that they've put more blood, sweat and tears into the release of the music. plus only people who really like the music are gonna buy it on vinyl.
for these reasons, there are always gonna be tunes that are vinyl-only releases. another reason for DJs to have decks and buy vinyl.
pressing vinyl is just holding things back, im not a fucking troll.
its a pointless medium that just encourages dickheads to resell music which should be accessible to everyone, and you get labels that dont do digital.
fuck this shit.
people like using vinyl, they like the feel of vinyl, they like the look of vinyl, they like other people who do the same, therefore they press vinyl. it's not some big cash grab conspiracy, it's an appreciation for a rawer music format and there's nothing wrong with that. if you've got such a massive problem with it then download vinyl rips, whatever.
i seen lowjack once, he was aight
SOPHIE is biggest producer out there u wet prick no-one is making music like him, on a level he is a sick producer. name 1 tune in the last year that came through with a more consistent, original, recognisable sound. yeh thats what i thought you gay fucking prick so go bak 2 ur "deep" moody uk bass that was ok 6 years ago bruv
>I doubt you can fuck with me mate
id fukn fold u while im havin a wank u wannabe badman dont test me
I'd call Commix - Call To Mind Drum & Bass rather than Jungle, it sounds like liquid funk to me.
If you want more like that then from this year listen to:
(FOKUZCD015CD 1) Various - 15 Years Of Fokuz Present
(FOKUZCD015CD 2) Various - 15 Years Of Fokuz Past (Remastered)
(MEDIC41DD) Bop - Punk's Not Dead
(METACD003) Lenzman - Looking At The Stars
(PZDLP005DD) Various - Atmosphere - Deeper Drum & Bass (Chapter 5)
(SBOY010) Calibre - Thoughtless, Trip It
(SHACD009) Technimatic - Desire Paths
(SIGCD010) Calibre - Shelflife 3
(SMGRSLP001) Tokyo Prose - Presence
(SPEAR056) Utah Jazz - Portfolio (especially this one)
shit I fucked up, I meant to put that (Commix) as dnb and i don't know why I didn't double check before posting, sorry
i was digging a lot of ragga stuff lately, like FFF or 6Blocc, but also I listened for the first time EZ Rollers - Dimensions of Sound on the weekend, excellent album if you like more old, jazzy and softy Jungle, would totally recommend if you haven't checked it out (which I don't think so).
It is actually not on my Jazz/Jungle list but is on my Liquid Funk list (and there are a few albums which overlap on the two). Yeah I agree that it's a really good LP.
Listening to this right now:
(DJX022R) ]1995] Splash - Babylon Remixes:
Can't actually seem to find DJ Trace Remix on youtube, everything listed is DJ Trace's second remix, which is on this:
(DJX022R2) Splash - Babylon Remixes II:
Both are huge but I prefer the first.
Yeah I can agree somewhat. I only tend to put it on if I'm really in the mood for it, which is quite infrequently tbh. Goes down like a treat if I'm feeling it tough. One of the best of all time for me.
speed bhangra yeh
sounds good, haven't checked this one out so I'm downloading.
Have you checked Green Bay Wax? they put out some good stuff, none of them is on youtube though
This is the only thing titled Future Jungle that I like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDLX7f2hE40
Official PJDN ranking:
Chabuddy G = Steves > Beats > Grindah > Decoy > Miche > Aldona > Roche > Fantasy > Weapon X (also known as sir not appearing in this sitcom).
>haven't checked this one
Ah m8, Babylon is one of the best Jungle tunes of all time, seriously. Have the original as well.
(DJX022) Splash - Babylon, Heaven:
Yeah I checked out Green Bay Wax's previews when I was trying to find some Kid Lib stuff, sounds really good. Kid Lib also has a lot of free shit on his bandcamp which is good. The Russians have uploaded two of his albums as well and they are quality.
He's literaly the most entertaining person in every ep. He's only properly outdone once by Steves when "he's stolen a cardigan and now police are after him."
Yeah m8, everyone knows it's pronounced winyl.
yeah there is, beyond all that horseshit
I'm not an audiophile but I really enjoy having physical media, especially the involvement of having to flip a record. plus paying for music I enjoy is a good feeling.
has anyone ever bought a record without having heard it only to be pleasantly surprised? bought The Love Below #3 from Somethinksounds (compilation of bootlegs from artists on the roster) and because it was delayed (it actually came quicker than expected) they sent me an Eliphino EP as well which I actually like better than the one I bought originally anyway
