Please oh wise one. Please tell us all the genres that we are forbidden to talk about in /bleep/ and explain as to why that is so.
>>
>>48777878
It is played in Clubs
It is Played on Rinse FM
It is reported on in Fact Magazine
It can be said to be a branch off of UK Garage
It is a form of dance music
It does not have to have a MC, it can be instrumental electronic music
Grime can appear along side other genres found in these threads within a mix
>>
Grime is definitely bleep it's just this new white boy instrumental grime stuff is particularly shit on the whole. Couldn't imagine doing well in a club for more than 5 mins unless it's some bullshit lad / student night. No proper clubs will touch it with a barge pole tbh

i actually like some of it, like a few mixes like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbb829SkkW0

what i can't stand though is this weird glittery, really gay sounding shit that a few people post on here like pc music which is not fucking grime, can't think of many examples of hand.

How to make straight propah grime beats.

Step 1: Buy a cheap old tube TV, not a digital, flatscreen etc. off ebay (Don't worry about paying your TV license, you won't need it for this)

Step 2: Buy a Playstation 1 and the "Music 2000" game off eBay and connect to TV

Step 3: Make a beat on Music 2000 that tries to implement 2-step-y rhythm, but change it up every 8 bars.

Step 4: Record the beat through the TV speakers onto a cassette tape and press it to a dubplate

not being a bellend, it's just how it is. not trying to categorize people into listening categories, but from what i've experienced the 'lads' that everyone refers to do not listen to anything like 'ladgrime' and 'ladtechno' AKA terms that I have seen used by idiots in these threads

i got in last summer with 2 of my friends

basically if they like the look of you you'll get in i think. we read online beforehand not to talk in the queue, to speak a bit of german to the security if they talk to you, and to act like you're there for the music even if you're not. did all of those

when we got to the front of the queue the security guy was like 'how many of you', my friend said '3' in german, then he just let us in.

it was really really sick by the way, best clubbing experience i've had i think

i think basically just don't act like a dickhead and try and look cool, and if they feel like it they'll let you in

just get that vibe off people here - i mean people going on about ladhouse all the time and cussing it when they've probably only heard tracks that are top40 material and get played in clubs that don't allow trainers or something.

people like tom shorterz who are pushing big bassy house get booked alongside new 'grime' djs at nights like fwd, yet you seem to think the 2 scenes are worlds apart with totally different crowds, and one is more complex or something. totally wrong.

Took me about 3+ years to be well versed in it and that was from starting with absolutely no idea what I was looking for or any real help from anyone since what I wanted to look for was very specific. I honestly didn't even find out the name of my signature sound (New Jersey Garage House) until a few months ago. Crazy isn't it? You just gotta keep looking and you'll eventually become more in tune with what you feel. Takes a while though. Not gonna sugar coat that. Take it one day at a time.

I meant it as a whole with music and what I feel, anon. Not just house music. I listen to anything since I don't give a flying fuck about genre labels. Of course I will be. I still think I have so much to learn with music as a whole. It's not just about house music to me.

I just post house in this thread since it's ontopic with it. I can post other genres as well but that would be offtopic here and I like these threads so I wouldn't want to taint that. These threads are like another planet compared to the rest of shitty ass /mu/.

>>

Grime is not /bleep/

Here is one of many logical reasons why.

I cannot fathom why somebody would subject themselves to these sub-par dancefloor orientated loops for degenerate chavs, especially music which is considered an instrumental if it does not have an undereducated or ridiculous MC 'spitting bars' over the top of the 'instrumental' in a very erratic and sloppy fashion, bleep music does not have vocals for the most part, grime is infact a sub-genre of UK Hip Hop.

You should really listen to something with more substance in my opinion, grime has no substance and therefore it cannot be bleep and it cannot be discussed even on the lowest of intellectual levels.

Sorry to quote the OP and for the minority ( I would hope) that are actually defending grime in these threads the same can be applied to drum and bass. It's Just garbage, no excuses for that irrelevant nonsense in the /Bleep/ threads.

As stated above I cannot comprehend why you would ever think /Bleep/ is grime, just because it was closely linked to Dubstep in the early 2000's and doesn't fit in anywhere else doesn't mean it's /Bleep/. It is and has always been a niche sub-genre and arguably a micro-genre of UK Hip Hop.

There is no such thing as the new wave of Grime or Drum & Bass both are just desperately clinging onto something that just isn't there anymore and hasn't been there for many years, the current producers of the new wave of both Grime and D&B are just re-hashing what has already been done in the past and labelling it as innovation and no Exit Records or Keysound are no exception to this.

Now that I have given you a well structured and thought out response, hopefully we can get back to the quality discussion we used to have in /Bleep/ and you will know realise grime and drum and bass for that matter holds no further place in these threads, doing so would be considered shitposting or in this case chavposting.

Ignore, report and hide chavposters

Take it elsewhere lads.Berceuse Heroique

lol there is still no explanation in this post apart from 'it's shit' and 'it's for degenerates and chavs' and 'it's not intellectual'

the one point that might have made sense is that it's a microgenre of UK hip hop, except this is not true at all and comes from garage. and all the MCs spitting over grime come from a garage/jungle/dnb background

and the rest of your post like the fact that grime and dnb are 'just desperately clinging onto something that just isn't there anymore' is just completely subjective, as a lot of people would argue with you that there is a lot of forward movement in both genres.
