She's still working on it, hopefully it's just mixing or mastering or something, I remember with Biophilia she wasn't happy with the mastering and it was delayed by two weeks.

I'm pretty sure Albini laid out why Big Black sounded the way they sounded on his forum or in an interview or somewhere else. I remember reading it, though I don't remember the details.

It was a pretty elaborate mix of elements IIRC. Lots of custom parts, even down to the guitar picks. There's a reason why nobody has ever succeeded at aping Big Black's sound.
