If i spend money on a cool modular synth with the neat colorful wires (patches?) and put it in my room next to my record player, by the off chance of a super cool music person entering my room will they think im patrician? I can't play any instruments. what synth will get me the most respect in the indie diy scene?
hilarious post my friend
modular synths do look cool as fuck though
>>74969131
Buy me the synth instead so I could put it to good use, instead of being used by you, a pretentious faggot
>>74969202

What does /mu/ think of full of hell? Personally, I think they're the best live act in metal today. How do you expect their sound to evolve in the future?

>Not putting radiohead
Then theres no objectivity to this list dumbass
I need your help, /mu/.
I've probed the depths of New Wave, Post-Punk, Synthpop and Minimal Wave in search of something along these lines, but sadly, I can't say I've been successful:

A friend of mine festively speculated this might be what disco would've sounded like had the Axis won the War. His description couldn't have been more perfect. Entering on a crescendoing tone, the song hits us with a funky bassline which sets the rhythm for the rest of the instruments to keep time with. The similarly groovy guitars have plenty of mood-setting reverb and echo as well as the soothing voice of the vocalist lures us into the nighttime atmosphere of neon, strobe lights and flashing colors.
I've heard this song called New Wave, Synthpop and Post-Punk, which are all broadly accurately, but none of them encapsulate the compositional grammar succinctly, and it pisses me off that I should be able to find stuff like this, but so far, I've come up dry.
So I turn to you, /mu/. Can you find me something along these lines?
Think atmospheric, but groovy. Guitars and synths together, please.

It's neat and noisy, but still not quite what I'm getting at.
It needs to sound slick and groovy like the OP.
>>74968917
>>74969041
This is a little more what I'm looking for, but the OP has better sounding guitars than this:

After awhile, this gets obnoxious whereas "Genetics" is smooth as silk.
Why aren't you listening to Zappa right now? He does the best guitar solos ever, seamlessly bends jazz, classical, avant-garde, free-improv and rock together, and also he's smart as hell!
So what's your excuse?
>>74968746
>guitar solos
there's your answer
his music isn't interesting to me. doesn't have a ton of soul in it
Im not brain dead
When did you realize that Number of the Beast is overrated and that this is truly Iron Maiden's best album?

Who is your favorite guitar player and why? Michael Schenker because he has an uncanny knack for amazing note selection and unparalleled tone and vibrato. His playing is really tight and concise, every note has a purpose, even on his faster playing. The man pretty much invented the neo classical style of electric guitar, yet is severely underrated.
Sammy Duet because of his riff writing and tone, never heard such appealing guitar sounds in my life.
I like Paul Gilbert because he seems like a really nice guy

Is Madonna actually worth listening to or was she just a pop culture meme?
Her s/t is damn good. Everything else aged quite poorly tbqh.
she put out some kino in the early-mid 80's
This is my favorite Madonna song https://youtu.be/HMgYrFthUsI
>Crabalocker fishwife, pornographic priestess
>Boy, you've been a naughty girl you let your niggers down
>I am the egg man, they are the egg men
>I am the walrus, goo goo goo joob
What did Lennon mean by this?

>tfw just finished listening to this, my first Modest Mouse album
Well, that was disappointing. Album is pretty fucking boring besides a few song. Absolutely no need for it to be 74 minutes long.
