Thoughts?
Say goodbye to that coveted spot in the top 10 for 2017.

Here's a superior list of essentials btw. I've listened to about half of them, and I've been lurking /mu/ for like a year though I've been on 4chan for like 13 years

too autistic to stick with a genre
>>72438195
Sticking with a genre would be exactly what an autist would do, though.

is he right?
Does /mu/ actually like U2 or is it some ironic contrarian meme thing?
>>72455247
Both. It's a huge meme, but it's agreed that War, Joshua Tree, Zootopia, Boy and Acthung Baby are good to great albums
>>72455352
Unforgettable Fire too. And outside those, they've had some other good songs as well.

What's /mu/s take on 311?
They've got some good, smooth music. Probably my favorite band from the turn of the millennium
RAINSTOOOORM
TAKE ME AWAY FROM THE NORM
311 - down
I had a douchebag roommate in college who was super into them. This turned me off to the band, perhaps unfairly.
I love many of their songs, but some of them just hit me so hard. No Surprises, for instance, fills me with a profound bittersweet melancholy. Most of their songs on OK Computer give me the vibe of "I desire meaning, and connection, but it cannot be found". So it's feeling lonely about having no connection, but also realizing you desire something beautiful, that the world isn't totally bad, but you just can't be part of it.

OP, I'm going to say an Aaron Copeland soundtrack slowed down by 200 cents and reversed
muchas gracias!
