It's mid tier. it is slightly too short and the live version is much better, but the songs are overall great. Feral is the only one I'd remove.

Maybe it's not supposed to be deep. I think the album could be an artistic diss at people like Drake and Big Sean. Kendrick's trying to prove that he can make a mainstream album, and that he isn't restricted to "conscious jazz rap." In the same stroke, he's also rejecting the 'savior of black Americans' trope that's been placed on him. His lament that "no one's praying for him" is an example of that. People want Kendrick to be the shining light in the depravity of the hood, but he knows that he's only human. Not only that, but he wonders if he's even really a good person.

Havent listened to it yet. Im gunna give it more time to cool down and not pay attention to what people are saying about it because everybody has opinions. Besides, I know in my heart I'll never get an album as good as Demon Days again, so everything after that has just been kinda like bonus cool ish to grove on.
