>Interviewer: Your music has been hugely influential. One of the more prominent musicians who’ve said that they’ve been inspired by your records are Radiohead? Did you listen to any of their last two album „Kid A“ and „Amnesiac“?
Richard: I don’t like them. I heard maybe five or six tracksand I thought they sounded really really cheesy.
>Interviewer: Cheesy?
Richard: Yeah, really obvious and cheesy. I mean I’m just comparing it to my favourite music and I think it’s terrible compared to that. But compared to all the shit boring R&B tracks it’s probably alright. Compared to those teen punk sort of bands or whatever they are supposed to be called, who think that they are really anarchic and stuff like that, they are probably amazing. If you’re only exposed to that kind of stuff and then Radiohead come along you will probably think that they are geniuses.
>Interviewer: Don’t you think it’s a good thing if only one percent listen of the people who buy a Radiohead album will then go and check out stuff like Rephlex?
Richard: I’m not that bothered honestly. I’m quite happyn with the state of things at the moment. I like there to be shit music around. I like people to not be informed of what’s around. If too many people would listen to what I listen to I wouldn’t like it. I always wanted to be seen as being different. I like to like things that other people don’t. If Merzbow was in the charts I wouldn’t like it anymore. Some people don’t wanna do what everyone else is doing and some people do. It’s very simple. (laughs)
What a pretentious asshole.

"The best musicians or sound-artists are people who never considered themselves to be artists or musicians," he says. "I'm just some irritating, lying, ginger kid from Cornwall who should have been locked up in some youth detention centre. I just managed to escape and blag it into music."
>mfw this is a real interview
Jesus Christ I didn't think he was such a pretentious faggot
>If too many people would listen to what I listen to I wouldn’t like it
This nigger is literally /mu/ incarnate in a bad way.
So, since I record music at home, in an apartment, I thought maybe this would be nice? I hear it's got that heavy Orange sound.
Also, I want to record directly if possible, I got a Presonus Firestudio Mobile audio interface (your basic FireWire interface, essentially), so can you go from guitar -> Tiny Terror -> audio interface -> DAW? I've heard some people arguing about this online, and they say it can't be done, or you need a DI box, but why is that the case? Is the signal really that quiet?
(for reference, I'm actually running a guitar -> BOSS Blues Driver BD-2 -> audio interface -> DAW right now, and I'm pretty satisfied about how that sounds, believe it or not. Also, I do a lot of electronic tinkering on the DAW so I can add onto the sound more than the usual guitarist just recording his takes.)
No this can't be done with a done tube amp as they need to take a certain load, usually the speaker. So plugging straight into an interface would blow up your amp basically.
You could record record from an amp with an FX loop send but the Tiny Terror doesn't have an FX loop so you'd need a different amp or buy a dummy load box which replaces the load to the speaker and sends it to a small box with a direct out which can be sent to an interface. These are usually expensive though.
The tube will break if it doesn't send the signal to a speaker so you need to get an 1x12 speaker to play it into and a mic to record it.
I said 1x12 too. Take note. 1x10 inch speakers sound tinny.
Tiny terror is great for recording. Tube amps are made to sound good when they are using most of their power. You would never be able to use all the power in a Fender Twin for example because your neighbors would be pissed off.
tiny terror lets you get sweet sweet break up at low volume.
Fender Mustangs have a 'british color' model that is pretty decent if you want to plug right in to the computer without messing around with mics.
You can try out the software for free on their website.

Well, part of the reason is that I record sometimes at ridiculous hours of the night, so if I use headphones, it's fine, but micing up amps can be a total no go. Also the walls are super thin and I can get complaints from my neighbor above (weirdly, never anyone else) potentially at any time of the day.
>if you listen to anything popular you're a mindless drone
>if you listen to anything unpopular you're trying to compensate for your lack of personality
the only solution is to listen to what you want and stop caring about what other people think

Would think that this is pretty self-explanatory.
>>72613730
yeah basically this. if you want validation from others look to exercise and clothes and other visible stuff, just listen to music because it's good
Post the artist that began your musical journey

Is it just me or is all the anti-trump music material coming out sort of lacking. It seems like when Bush was around it was coming out in droves. Additionally most of the music seems to be trying cash in on the edginess of the matter and is overall lamesauce.
>pic related; latest anti-trump music

complaining about politics in music is retarded...
I could write about the human condition and universal themes like love and loneliness and shit... but, instead i'm just going to complain about a politician who will be forgotten in a few decades
>>72613655
To make one of these songs come out as petty. The lyrics are normally weak and end up just being a bunch of 2nd grade insults. Musically it ends up weak because their first thought was "I want to make an anti Trump song" as opposed to letting inspiration for lyrics take over as they were making the music. You can make a song and have an idea of what you want it to be about, but most of these artists set aside the music to make the shitty lyrics. Only good anti Trump song we've gotten is that FDT drill song because it was hilarious.

Listened to Home, Like Noplace is There a few weeks ago. Have been really enjoying it. Anything else like it?
I've been meaning to check out the rest of their discography too.
Currently working on a new IDM/Experimental album with about 26 songs and need some good ideas on what to name them. Most of the tracks have a apocalyptic kinda feel
