MBV
Slowdive
Lush
Ride
1. Start the video by laughing. coughing, or make some noise like a fucking retard, gotta give instant sound and movement to your infant minded audience. Sometimes bring act as your other character to bring an unprecedented level of pandering and DUDE IRONY LMAO
2. Hi everyone, "Inserthony Unfunnymemetano here" internet's biggest cum gargling waste of space
3. Give a long and unnecessary exposition of the artist history and take up at least 30% of the video talking about wikipedia found information. It's pure filler
4. Talk about general information about the sonic qualities that the album has
5a. "Analyze" each track. On instrumentals, use unnecessary adjectives to describe what is being played ("blistering keyboard progressions", "fish oiled coated high hats"), it sounds smart and no one will point out your pretentious way of speaking. Also, point out obvious things about the record.
5b. On song meanings, just rephrase what the lyrics are saying, ("In this song, Johnny Cash talks about how he falls in to a burning ring of fire, and he went down, and the flames went higher, and that he burns") and pretend as if it counts as analysis or what the song actually means.
6. Give your final opinion and overview of the record, and describe your listening experiences of it. Compare the album with past albums and talk about the future. Talk about unoriginal viewpoints and obvious expectations.
7. Give a final score, which is only what the viewers care about. Even though it's in the description, and people spend a hardy 3 seconds on the video because of it. Sometimes you'll write, "watchthevideodudegivememoney/10" if it is a video on a popular artist and want people to gruelingly sit through your 8-22 minutes of bullshit. Then again they can skip to the end. Sometimes when the album is a hot meme off the grill, you'll write "le maymay/10" or "poop/10" or "pandering/10" for your comedic quality.
Faaaaaart!
OK Freude boy

I liked it
Does David Bowie have any really exceptional music? The only thing I ever particularly liked was some stuff from Blackstar. And I've dug around.
>>72620082
berlin trilogy
>>72620082
I mean yea, he does. It seems like you're more interested in experimental work. His closest thing to Blackstar as a whole is probably Heroes. The title track to Station to Station is the most similar song I can think of, it feels like the precursor to the title track on Blackstar. Listen to Sons of the Silent Age off of Heroes, see if that strikes your fancy.

Is there another single artist more overrated here than Grimes? like I get that Visions is a good album but all the other releases are pretty sub-par except for some of their singles

Kanye West, Bjork

I don't see Bjork posted that much in comparison and I post here in almost a daily basis
How isn't this a perfect 10 again?
Because In Utero exists.

This. I love In Utero much more than Nevermind

holy fuck are you retarded
So, after a couple of listens I think HUMANZ is The Gorillaz worst album. I got to this opinion by realizing that 4 out of the 14 songs (~30%) on HUMANZ were shit tier and none of the other albums have shit songs. Carnival, Sex Murder Party, Hallelujah Money and We Got the Power are just trash.
As a project as a whole, I think they phoned it in. They have a bunch good songs but just 1 music video? A shitty app in place of an immersive website?
Where does this album take place?
What's going on?
Who are all these rappers (in universe)?
Is Russel being possessed again? (Sounds like it on Submission).
I think they should have created a couple more music videos. At least two.
Damon Albarn has been distancing himself from the cartoons since after Demon Days
he and Jamie Hewllet don't really get along
>>72619840
That's a shame, but I get not wanting to be a slave to your success. I would want for them to try to recapture that Demon Days/Plastic Beach formula but if they don't want to do that power to them. I just wish that whatever Damon does outside Gorillaz is as good or better. Sadly, that's just not the case.
>2017
>an actual good comeback record
wtf?
Slowdive sucks though
>>72619660
objectively incorrect. come back when you've found the right answer.
>>72619649
it bored me after a listen, i was seeing them live so i listened to it a few more times just to familiarize myself, but woah, its pretty fucking dull and colorless. there's nothing worthwhile, just a couple easy-listening jangles with a shitton of reverb and pretty uninspired vocals.
seriously wtf those vocals on slomo make me want to fucking delete the entire album, so awful, they're all shakey and weak and just downright sickly.
Take the /mu2/ challenge: can you combine All That You Can't Leave Behind and How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb into a single 8/10+ album?
>>72620809
I hate Atomic Bomb personally.
Also stop this u2 pill nonsense mate.
Are they rehearsing Vancouver again today?
>>72620809
Are they planning any new releases any time soon? Really liked the last one.
Opinion on this album?
One of the best cynical pop albums ever made.
>>72619564
Give me the album name and I'll listen to it.
absolutely amazing, interesting mix of post punk and post rock + sampling
When did you realise that their first two albums are actually rather good?
When i turned 18

ALL MY LOIFE
One hit wonder
Assuming you're collecting, mostly just for enjoyment.
Both have their upsides and downsides and I was wondering what /mu/ thought.
http://www.strawpoll.me/12907245
I'm personally in the "both" camp, cause it spans almost all important music. CDs are cheaper, sound best and harder to mess up, but vinyl has big art, more novelty and a "warm" sound.
>>72619455
I buy a bit of stuff second hand so the format isn't that much of a consideration.
I buy CDs to listen to the music
I buy vinyl to display the cover art
