Can we ban the U2 generals? Liking U2 goes against everything /mu/ stands for. Can we have an official vote?
>implying a lot of us didn't start listening to U2 again after that pretty top tier general thread came out of nowhere
I'm pretty sure you'd lose the vote
We had an official vote and we voted that U2 are a good band

The Joshua Tree [Island, 1987]
Let it build and ebb and wash and thunder in the background and you'll hear something special--mournful and passionate, stately and involved. Read the lyrics and you won't wince. Tune in Bono's vocals and you'll encounter one of the worst cases of significance ever to afflict a deserving candidate for superstardom. B
ITT extremely overrated albums

It's a 7/10 at best anon.
why do all women in music think they have a saying in politics?
They're all multi-millionaire cunts who never had to face real problems.
>>72664897

Because of their popularity they can use their influence to influence others. Nothing really wrong with that, men do the same thing in the music industry and the entertainment industry as a whole..
why is she so qt though?
>>72664897
agreed, but this goes for any actor/musician who tries to be political. you can have your beliefs, but don't act like you're the final word or something.
beyonce in particular pisses me off. she has nothing in common with the droves of girls who worship her. she's been rich and famous for nearly her whole life, and has no idea what it's like to be an actual struggling black woman

very good quads, very nice
He just needs a
what does /mu/ think of deadmau5?
seems to be he's desperate for some side cash.
>>72664406
his lowest common denomimator edm shit is so played out I don't even know why he keeps trying. he tries to call out other producers for doing shit music or whatever but he comes off as jealous and bitter, it's pathetic.
> Get Scraped is okay idm
> Random Album Title and 4x4=12 are essential progressive house
> while(1<2) is a nice deviation from his usual house stuff
> >album title goes here< is a mix between while and RAT
> Strobe is a good track from an otherwise-mediocre album
everything else is not worth the time
His latest release was a big let-down after hearing while(1<2)
>>72664435
i think he does, really fucking deep down, have actual musical talent
you can hear hints of it throughout all of his work, but nothing ever completely worthy of note
at this point i don't see him ever making anything worthwhile, he just makes pop shit that gets him money so he can get more ok tattoos
also, as to why i think he calls out other musicians, he looks at their works and sees music
to go more in depth, i think hes maybe written an album worth of content he had a passion for, and the rest of it is just a money grab
hes scared to write shit, he admits in various interviews his original intention in wearing the mask is because of stage fright, and that leads me to believe hes scared to release stuff that could be considered a work of 'passion', instead he releases stuff that he knows will get him money
but i was curious for /mu/'s opinion, so thank you for contributing desu
>>72664486
i think that to say
> Random Album Title and 4x4=12 are essential progressive house
is a bit extreme. a lot of people not too /mu/ of course see deadmau5 as a leader in the field of edm (more specifically, as you said, house), but i went through a phase were i listened to everything that could even be slightly considered edm and i dont see his work as too influential
what i mean is yes, those albums can be considered some great examples of prog house, but when you look at the genre as a whole his work never really influenced any one else, and i think in order to be 'essential', your work has to influence other work
Why are k-pop and j-pop so popular, but mandopop and cantopop not so much?

AOTY
This album is the shit, the songwriting, the vocals (Eugene is a big influence on me personally), the production, this shit makes so much sense, it's a really well-crafted body of work. However, it will go unnoticed, which is a shame.
Saw them live last week. They really (sorry for the word) matured, but it's not bad at all. eugene still had the same energy and the other guys are still great at what they do. Truly great band
I think I'll go with pic related.
