why is so much hate in here when it comes to lo fi hip hop?
All the songs sound the same but just with slighty different variations, don't take for granted of course, they're lots of good artists and albums, but it's just that the genre has been overdone to death that it started to sound the same very quickly

It's overdone. I'm fine with it, but I know it pisses off people that it's really popular atm.

i just got into this genre and it makes me feel good

Pretty decent. Every non-single song is legitimately good; the singles (Sign Of The Times, Sweet Creature, Ever Since New York) are a bit overwrought.
Overall, a solid 7/10 and a surprising move from this pop artist.

Bump

I agree, a strong 7. It's really consistent in my opinion, I liked pretty much every song. Nothing really completely amazed me, but it's a very enjoyable record.
>>72774097
I like essentially every song but I think the lyrics in Sign of the Times are pretty cringey, pretty juvenile.
Other than that, I think the album is good and I'm interested in seeing how his fanbase reacts to it
Show me them sad hip hop albums bois

it is indeed an amazing album and fascinating cultural artifact. not sure if "best" is the best way to describe it but its surely something everyone should hear.
Have you ever met someone in a band you like and had a bad experience with them? Ended up being disappointed?
>pic my not or may be related
yeah once with Connor skinny ass Oberst
A girl I had an internet crush on won us backstage tickets to see a certain anemic indie songsmith at the Greek in Hollywood. I was having the time of my life even though the date wasn't working out too well, and the opening band is incredibly sweet and conversational with me. They go on stage and I see Mr. Skinny Asshole sitting on a couch with a bottle of something and an affected blond by his side who looks like she's on pills.
I surmount my shyness, approach him and say "Hey man, I just wanted to say I love your music and it's had a big impact on me."
"Oh yeah? You like my music?" he says back.
I nod.
"Well me too. That's why I fucking write it idiot."
Then he gets up and walks away. I had ordered a box set of his whole discography a few weeks before the show. It came a week later and was promptly sold.
