It's been almost a year since she was murdered. I wasn't even a fan of hers, but it still made me really sad.
I wish I had been killed instead of her, desu.

Not trying to be rude, but who?
Never heard of this bitch until she got shot, and I forgot she once existed until right now. I also never knew what she looked like until now either.
>>72841050

I think it was that that guy sucked and was a no talent piece of shit
Did he really walk Bob Dylan up on stage, /mu/?
>says "*the bands name*" changed my life
WTF is that supposed to mean?
Even when you discover some gem for yourself you would forget about it in a month at best, you might remember songs from time to time - its not like your life was changed
How exactly a record can change your life?
all music change my life
actually all things change my life all the time
>>72840984
Did you fact that you pooped yesterday make you difference?
>>72840910
>Even when you discover some gem for yourself you would forget about it in a month at best
wait, what? there are plenty of albums that have stuck with me, you may just have a low attention span
When will you guys realise that he is the GOAT?
He just released 3 classics in the span of 6 years.
>>72840905
too bad he broke that streak

>>72840905
Dude I shit out classics every three days. This guy is just a pussybitch compared to me: the GOAT. You know who I am, right?

/metal/ general: final thread edition
second to last thread: >>72832984
This is the very last thread concluding the /metal/ general because I said so.
Metal is an absolute shit genre and a complete waste of time. In the realm of music, it has no place. Metal has more to do with edgy nihilism and fashion than music. I have listened to the discographies of hundreds of bands very well received by numerous metal communities and only a very select few songs stand out and these songs are almost always straight up heavy metal. Subgenres are worthless. Gimmicks like adding keyboards, a third guitarist, two vocalists (especially a male and female vocalist) are worthless. Metal is no longer relevant, even in Europe. Even in countries that are noted for having a large fanbase of metal listening to internet radio, these surveys show that the most popular metal radio stations are straight up heavy metal with no black, death, doom or any other extreme metal bullshit. A close exception is symphonic metal for Finland and Mexico, but there is not a strong enough correlation to say with at least 95% accuracy that symphonic metal is more popular than say, the ubiquitous “Latin American” radio in Mexico and “Eurodance” for Finland.
>tl;dr metal is bad and you should feel bad for listening to it
pic related: all these wasted years of listening to utter trash and I will NEVER, EVER get those years back
fuck you

Is pic related worth getting for absolute beginner "musician"?
The PO-12 is a fun little drum machine, but for the combined price of all 3 you can get a DAW with a lot more bang for your buck.
If you just want to get the basics of sequencing, the PO-12 is a fantastic way to start though.
Nah, theyre memes. Honestly just get Ableton or FL and a MIDI controller (AKAI MPK Mini IIs are fantastic and an absolute joy for beginners) and some VSTis. Theres no reason to buy low end digital synths in 2017.
What are the best drum machines I can buy used for under $200 that sound like live drums? I saw a Korg Volca and a Roland TR-505 that were really cool and good for 80s stuff but I need """real""" drums for my bedroom projects
Brits, explain to me what it is about this city that sets it apart from the rest in terms of music. Almost all of my favorite artists are from here

I hate America. Our entire culture is so contrived. There is nothing like Manchester in America.
>>72841280
New York has so many great artists. I wish i could live in New York and meet a lot of ambitious people
I really like Joy Division, but it's a shame they only have two albums. Are there any bands similar to them?
>>72840589
Kraftwerk

Try Echo & the Bunnymen. Ocean Rain is really good and the debut is also a great place to start.
Obvious: New Order
Bonus: The Feelies

What is it about socially-isolated weirdos that makes them such great musicians? Here's a list of some of my faves:
Abner Jay
Daniel Johnston
Gary Wilson
Michael Hurley
R. Stevie Moore
Ted Hawkins
Please share more musically-inclined misanthropes.
I don't consider Gary an outsider artist. I've talked to him before. Hes just weird. Nothing wrong with him.
If Gary Wilson is outsider R Stevie Moore or Ariel Pink are "outsider"
>tfw you realize that Mary Had Brown Hair is superior to You Were Too Good To Be True

Incorrect
why does album art have to be square? there's no point to it anymore. visual accompaniment should be more interesting.
Meh it's just tradition at this point
I mean what else would it be at this point
it packages the disc and makes it shelvable
any questions?
