Here is my scale of heaviness
1. Radiohead, not heavy at all
2. Seether, not really heavy unless you're a pussy
3. Megadeth, got thrash riffs, but not sludgy or anything
4. Metallica, got them thrash riffs and some breakdowns. Too bad Lars sucks.
5. Slayer, heavy shouting thrash. a good place to start for heavy shit.
6. Slipknot, poser metal but has some heavy stuff
7. Death, thrash + death metal = heavy
8. Pantera (only the songs like Suicide Note Pt. 2)
9. Rings of Saturn, heavy shit for sure. the guitar solos are dope.
10. INFANT ANNIHILATOR. Even if the drumming is programmed, it is extremely heavy. The vocalist is amazing for sure.
Post opinions and your own scale of heaviness, anons!

How do you rate this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0MkJtI3FvU
>>72860747
Not particularly bad. The only problem I have is that Radiohead is much heavier in comparison with a lot of other bands. It should be like:
1: Sufjan Stevens, ones like Carrie and Lowell
2. Neutral Milk Hotel
3. Radiohead

Also have a 160GB iPod, and it's getting pretty close to getting filled.
Any of you able to rec any larger players that won't blow up on me or make me sell a kidney to afford it?
>inb4 just stream
Data prices are fucking ridiculous where I live, and I'm not really interested on cramming stuff on SD cards and having to treat the same thing like 2 different devices.
>inb4 just trim your library
Not interested in getting rid of stuff or only making part of my library portable/cycling stuff on and off it bc like everyone else on here I'm autistic as fuck
use your phone and use cloud storage
If you use an android phone you can buy an sd card with tons of space
>>72860833
yeah i've got an android, and i suppose i could make peace with getting a 200/256GB (probably the latter) SD if that's my only real option
but it's 2017 and i really think i should still be able to have some sort of decent portable music thing without having to resort to making my phone do double duty

who /aa/ here?
Basically I just listened to Confield by Autechre and it is the most horrifying yet addictve music I've ever heard. I listened to this with no experience in idm or the duo whatsoever and it gave me the most numbing experience possibe. It resides somewhere between the sound computers make when emulating the most haunting human emotions and images through a barrage of odd electronic drum patterns and melodies with chords that give off the errieness of a buzzing lightbulb in an occupied city where you're the only person in it and you're trapped in an electronic prison you can't leave.
lol confield is entry level as fuck, not even their weirdest album (listen to untilted and exai)
I agree that Autechre is the finest at what they do, outside of maybe Coil.
>>72860654
wouldn't really compare coil and autechre tho, incredibly different bands but both are still great

Who's your favourite jewish musician /mu/ and why it isn't (((Paul Simon))) and (((Art Garfunkel))) ?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_a46WJ1viA
Robert "Bob Dylan" Zimmerman. With all due respect to Simon and Garfunkel, Dylan is arguably the greatest and most influential musician in the history of popular music.
>inb4 "all of them"
Lou Reed is my favorite jewsician
I've been listening to a ton of Devo, Oingo Boingo, and Madness lately. What are some other bands that have a ton of energy, but don't take themselves very seriously?
>>72859996
Talking Heads. I'm assuming you've listened to them, but like Oingo Boingo, their live stuff is better than their studio work.
Speaking as a fan of all three bands mentioned so far, you might want to try Wall of Voodoo. Their earlier stuff is very Devo-esque to me.
Listen to Cardiacs
Does /mu/ like Lana Del Rey's new song "Coachella - Woodstock In My Mind" ?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nF3L8n8vcQI
I think it's pretty good. It's sad and sentimental and beautiful, just like Lana.

MY LITTLE GIRL WAS BORN ON A RAY OF SOUND
So what are they /mu/? Good/bad/ok/overrated/underrated?
Personally I think they are overrated outside of this site, but underrated on here. I think their music is fun as fuck, but I wouldn't call them the best band ever.
>music is fun
Also stop stalking me.
All their 90s output is GOAT alternative rock, especially Blood Sugar
They were amazing with John.
The last album with Slovak was great but had no right to be considering all the shit.
The Navarro album was great too. Shit at first but once you listen to it, it's really good.
And with Josh they are just "good". It's funny how an album of singles is better than their actual releases. Yes he's a good guitarist but he's changed so much of the sound it's unreal. Plus you don't get that otherworldly John voice backing up anymore.
They can still play, but they're soft as fuck and they lack the ability to be hugely memorable while being that soft. Venice Queen for example was absolutely huge, but none of the new stuff can capture that. And even when they pretend they still have hard rock songs, it just isn't the same. Though Goodbye Hooray gets a pass for the bass solo.
