is constantly having emotional songs a cheap way of gaining a fan base and relatability?
>>72881248
Sincerity is making a comeback. Is making music that fits the general (forgive me for using this word) zeitgeist cheap? If so, then yes, making emotional songs right now is cheap..
>>72881311
I think it's better to have say 1 out of every 50 songs emotional than 35 out of every 50
I think it pigeonholes you.
you connect with a young fanbase quickly, but they mature and will leave your content behind. Even if you mature with some, you usually you alienate people who expect the same or try something new that no one likes.
Is he the very best?

>>72881141

Does /mu/ like Die Antwoord?
die antwoord great band
yolandi's got me feeling some type of way
FUCK
YES
We tried this earlier this week but there wasn't enough of a response to get it going, so let's see if there are more cool people on tonight.
we're attempting to bring back this old collab project from years ago called 'a Spanish Politician'
We need a few more people to join to make it work. The basic idea is we use that old 'random album cover generator' game to make an album cover, and then we all record songs and make it an album.
To start off we all start making albums and dubs decides, unless everyone agrees on a particular one.
1 - choose a pic from - http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/
you're 'technically' supposed to take the 5th picture and make do with it but let's be honest it's better if you cheat
2 - choose a title from - http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Special:Random
any sentence or sentence fragment from the page
3 - The only difference is you don't use wikipedia random for the artist name, the artist name is always "a Spanish Politician" (yes with a lowercase 'a', that's really important)
pls respond
Responds.
Just put "/mu/ wateveralong" in the subject and call it DLB revivalcore.
checking in
everyone remember, if the flickr picture has downloads disabled, save the whole page and dig up the picture from the html resource folder
don't normally do these, so it looks like shit, but it was fun to bring it back

so is pop dying too now cause all the charts are EDM and rap
>>72880903
all 3 of those genres are congealing into one shitty genre, at least in the mainstream.
>>72880925
I mean like that katy perry, kesha, miley cyrus shit.
The only things on the charts are like kendrick lamar, drake, the chainsmokers, and oh, like really shitty folk pop like ed sherran
I think it will be a very temporary change, personally i think it will return to normal in 2 months or so
>cover art is a picture of the musician/band
>>72880750
cover art is an emoji
>>72880750
I actually prefer the cover art be a picture of the musician/band because its easier to figure out what genre of music that album contains. For example, if a black guy with a ridiclously big gold chain is on the cover i can safely assume its a rap album. If its a group of pale whiteboys with long hair on the cover, I can safely assume that they make rock music.
>>72880750
It works well sometimes
Are you guys ready for his death next week?
>no digits
I don't care
>>72880788
Czech 'em. Singles and dies tomorrow.
>>72880788
Oh boy.
Is this the ultimate power pop album?
no, because it's hard rock
Yeah it's basically transcendent power-pop, the only non pussified power pop album in existance
A shame that hype one or two note piano sound didn't catch on
>>72880744
The Cars' albums are pretty much power pop and they're very much not pussified.
Never heard this album mentioned on /mu/, what's the consensus?
pretty cool and tribal as fuck. not my favorite boredoms album but its up there
>>72880662

Soundcloud artists must stay on the internet and in their rooms and never leave
Love the smell of summer.
>>72880407
I think the guy was just nervous and had a retarded tech
>>72880442
I like him
but this was a really bad set
and the pink guy one was terrible too.
I think a lot of people with his type of music just don't translate well to the stage.
or at least he should be doing very small shows off camera and getting his set down.
