you connect with a young fanbase quickly, but they mature and will leave your content behind. Even if you mature with some, you usually you alienate people who expect the same or try something new that no one likes.

I actually prefer the cover art be a picture of the musician/band because its easier to figure out what genre of music that album contains. For example, if a black guy with a ridiclously big gold chain is on the cover i can safely assume its a rap album. If its a group of pale whiteboys with long hair on the cover, I can safely assume that they make rock music.
