Is this David Bowie?
was Meet of the Waters kind of shit for anyone else? i wish they'd go back to pic related desu.
Everything they did after Fall Be Kind was shit
>>72972389
but im not trolling though. i'm trying to do something else...
I never really listened to Weezer, because I thought they were shill alt-rock. I like the Blue Album so I was listening to that the other day and I remembered my friend saying that he liked El Scorcho, so I put it on and immediately dug the vibes. I like the quality of the production; like early Dinosaur Jr. and the emotion in the vocals like the Pixies, but there is something deeper about the way Rivers lays it all out there. Lines like "Everyone is a little queer" and "and we don't wanna be alone" are eating at my soul now. Can we discuss this album and how I can write music as honest and real as Pinkerton?
How do you put your soul out there like that?
He did and was laughed out of the music industry for several years. He even disowned the record for years.
Eventually people starting praising the album for it's sincerity and Rivers started boasting about the album.
He is full of shit.

Lyrics are shit. Just scribble some shit down on paper and some aspie will be able to relate to it somewhere.
Lyrics are pretty worthless. I wish instrumental music was the norm again. I love Weezer, but I couldn't care less about the pain o expression of a single person. I feel like if you're going to write lyrics, you have a responsibility to be better than yourself and not talk about what you're going through. I dunno it just seems narcissistic. Most lyrics are narcissistic and self-centered and that's why I can't enjoy pop music at all.
So yeah the way to be like this is just scribble down some sad shit and somebody will find it compelling.

Do you think that was because it was juxtaposed with the success of The Blue Album? If Pinkerton had been their first I doubt they would have received negative reactions, it had some bangers.

pic related, i'm officially hyped for the new album.

The good kind of boredom.
How does /mu/ generally feel about Steve Wilson, the mastermind behind the acclaimed progressive rock band ``Porcupine Tree''?
I for one have been a fan of his works since a Fear of a Blank Planet, an album I consider the band's magnum opus. The Incident isn't bad and the early 90's works have some jewels.
However, some people especially on this corner of them interwebs don't think fondly of the band. Why would that be?
There is literally nothing wrong with Porcupine Tree
>DO NOT FALL FOR ANTIPROG SHILLS
most people on /mu/ seem to dislike prog in general and only focus on wilson's cringy (sometimes) lyrics. And that facebook song of course.
Anyway, Porcupine tree is awesome, even though I'm tired of them, cuz is probably the band I listened the most on my life. Kinda hyped for the new steven solo album
It's been years and I'm still kinda mad that Storm Corrosion started so fantastically with Drag Ropes and then petered off quickly.
Excluding Bob Dylan, I have listened to him.

What even is folk?
I was going to listen to ITAOTS but I found out it's folk and it sounds lame.
At least they can dance, right?
so we did it again... nice delete
I've been listening to Ween pretty heavily for the last few weeks
They're pretty good. My favorites are The Mollusk, Chocolate and Cheese, and GodWeenSatan

I'd go Chocolate and Cheese, The mollusk, and White Pepper for my top 3

It has always been this way with art. It's the same reason why an album like Tilt by Scott Walker would be more popular in the UK than the US or why a film like La Strada wasn't received well in the US.

This album is good shit. It's a shame their second album was so different. Still okay, but not as good. I live for this Gang of Four style post-punk.
