What is the best band from your city? I'm trying to put together a tour of the great music cities of the world, need suggestions - even better if you aren't from the US, UK, or Australia.
Best ever or currently together?

Let me explain, I've had last.fm for about 7 years now, I've changed a lot, but I thought it'd be interesting to see what people's overall listened to are.

i create playlists on my phone of my favorite songs dude, they're fully downloaded and it always ensures i'm listening to good, hand-picked stuff. you still get to keep the rest of the album on your home computer or something but the one song you like is always with you, at the least.

Why was this album so fucking acclaimed back when it came out? Critics claimed it was U2's third masterpiece, was on all the year end lists, it won several and was nominated for a billion Grammys, and was included in the "1001 Albums You Must Hear" book.
17 years later, the tide has turned and most people agree that this album and U2 were never very good at all
>>73074685
memes aside, this album is nowhere near as good as zooropa or pop
>>73074685
>>73074707
Joshua Tree is their masterpiece wtf. Like at least 100x better than War, Pop, Zooropa, or whatever.
p4k was on point with the score for this tho.
I think it has to do with the optimism people felt in the early 2000s before 9/11, like it was the dawn of a new millennium and anything was possible (an attitude typified by "Beautiful Day").
9/11 made people more jaded and turned them against sappy arena rock like U2.
What music does she listen to?
The Ramones, duh. Can't you see on her shirt?

you're straying
there are some multi hitters in there
some with downright great albums
>Jungyeon revealed the TWICE members were confused by "Signal" when they first heard the track.
>Though it went on to be a hit, "Signal" wasn't exactly what TWICE expected. The girl group were guests on the May 30th broadcast of SBS PowerFM's 'Choi Hwa Jung's Power Time', and DJ Choi Hwa Jung asked what they personally thought of the song. Jungyeon responded, "We thought, 'What is this?' He didn't tell us it was our title song and just sent us the track. We thought it wasn't our title track."
>She continued, "It's different than our previous title songs, so we thought, 'What is this?' When we heard it was our title track, it was just like, 'I see.'"
>As for the track's success, Chaeyoung commented, "I think we all worried about it. It was something new, so we wondered whether it was right for us. That's why we worked hard preparing." Jihyo added, "It was the same with 'Cheer Up'."

So, here's the deal. I am making """music""" for about four years now, made few releases which are either pure garbage or totally unlistenable (pick you own medicine). Lately I been feeling like shit and basically thought of not making music again as I believe I am truly a talentless hack. However the problem I've stumbled upon recently is that if I don't make music then I'm feeling close to suicidal since I have nothing else to do in my life.
What to do /mu/boyz? Outside of kys, fuck yursulf and other shit like that? Should I go on with this crap or should I quit it and, if so, what to do next?
Ask questions if you need more shit info about me.
Pic sort of related
continue to make music, don't have the expectation that it'll ever lead anywhere. even if you weren't shit there's like a 0.001% chance it would turn into a career or anything.
>>73074293
keep going.
You should be glad you can actually make music, even if it's bad. I've been playing guitar and bass for like 15 years and I've only written 2 songs, people tell me they're good but I can't imagine myself creating a whole album
So sudden
The bees
w o o o s h
shite album
no idea how i used to have thousands of plays of this shit band on last.fm. makes me cringe

Best song
Is he the most powerful man in the music industry?
Other large entities in the review industry take the form of collectives, Fantano is a single man able to voice his opinion unchecked.
He is not bound by the same rules and regulations regarding any other entity. Advertisers, editors, industry insiders, non of these have any bearing on this man.
Those working on music in any serious capacity (artists, producers, distributors) are all bound in that they must produce music to make a profit, they are at an inherent level compromised. Fantano has no overhead he can manipulate the music landscape as he sees fit.
If he gives a band a 3/10 he can end their career, a power that a single man at Pitchfork could only dream of. How can this mad melon be stopped?
>>73074182
Go to bed Fantano
we can't, just accept it and don't listen to anything he gives anything below a decent to strong 6
In the music industry? No. In the music review industry? Probably. He's the only reviewer that any average normie could name at least. I'd say that's powerful.
Say something nice about Bjork
She's a very good musician.
Iceland is cool.
Her experimentalism is very creative
