When I was younger I was really into Pink Floyd and even Roger Water's solo albums. Nowadays I don't even care enough to stop shitposting while I experience this album for the first time. Nowadays it seems kind of cheesy too theatrical. What do you think of this album? I'm on track 4.
lol track 5 now. He's still talking about WWII.
I think Waters already used all of his potential while in Pink Floyd

have you heard Amused to Death? i think that one's pretty good. Hitchhing is alright too I think.

that morrissey one is really good
i never even heard those songs before
the melty nanners ones are all great especially the 1999 one
X Ray Spex and Olivia Tremor Control are the ones that have stood out to me
I was in Starbucks the other day and heard Nick Drake playing over the speakers.
At first I was excited, then I thought that he probably sold-out.
What do you guys think? Is he a sell-out, or still respectable?
I would probably see him play if he came close to where I live.
I bet their would be a lot of coffee-house qts at the show.
there's a great stewart lee joke on exactly this topic but i forget how it goes

What went wrong?
No idea but these dubs went right

What do bassists/guitarists think of this scene in Scott Pilgrim specifically?
In terms of the actual scene, it's cool like the rest of the movie but isn't as epic sounding as I'd hoped from the books. Cera isn't an amazing bassist which makes sense cos Scott isn't either so the fact that they're not doing amazing fills isn't really surprising

Who watches this garbage

77 is a better album than remain in light. RIL starts great then every track is progressively worse, especially after once in a lifetime.

I really don't understand why everyone can't stop sucking off Surfer Rosa. Doolittle is really better

MBDTF is overrated
Marry Me is St. Vincent's best album, maybe not instrumentally and production-wise but the tone and way it tackles its themes are fucking genius
I will attempt to listen to any song you guys rec me. I'm not the other OP who did this for 5+ hours so don't expect much. Also, i don't really enjoy much hip hop. 5 min rule is still active though.

We should, honest to God, actually try to make a good album.
We should actually all collaborate someway or another and make a cohesive album with no shitty audacitycore ambient noise (maybe just one or two as an interlude or a closer) or repetitive loops played for endless stretches of time, that is actually of at least an objectively decent quality.
I am pretty sure that with everybody's knowledge of music combined we could actually make something productive instead of complaining about which is the most patrician album in an artist's discography or if Grimes or Death Grips or some shit is actually good or not.
Do you really think this is possible for /mu/?
making a few good songs is possible but it would be very dififcult to have any sort of consistent tone in the album without a few select project leaders
am unsure if that would go down well with /mu/

While I admire your spirit, no two people on this board seem to ever agree about music and most just want to meme/shit on any music that more than one person likes.
Is Oneohtrix Point Never the Karlheinz Stockhausen of our generation?
Nah he's too nice
>>73248997
I love OPN but Stockhausen was more creative than just playing arp chords on a vintage synth for whole albums.
What do OPN and Stockhausen really have in common to begin with?
I do think OPN is a great artist though and he probably will be remembered for his music. Everything from the Rifts compilation and R Plus Seven is imo incredible.
Good jazz or meme trash?
average jazz that is a meme
why don't you listen to it and make your own opinion? :)
It's a comfy jazz album. Nothing too technical, nothing too generic. It's average

SOAD are perfect for it
I really appreciate SOAD because none of the album sound too similar. This one is one of the better sounding albums. Almost no songs skipped.
