ideally I wanna start on CDJs but DDJ recommendations are welcome too.

Unless your idea of "low budget" is like $5k, you're nowhere near the ballpark for CDJs. Just get a Traktor S2 or S4, unless you have a preference for software you want to mix with.

Do you ever listen to "waves"? (synthwave, vaporwave, cyberpunk, seapunk, chiptune,...) Which kind? And why?
I love to listen to synthwave and its sperimental composers because it makes me think and relaxes me, but at the same time it makes me have nostalgia of things that never happened.

I listen to this music unashamedly but mostly for the aesthetic. It is relaxing and has a sense of escapism; great background music. However I don't really care to listen actively or listen to one album lots of times

This, except my taste is the opposite. I like the poppier and faster stuff. After I found Coaltar of the Deepers, I stopped trying to get into their stuff so much, since COTD filled the niche of what I personally liked from them a lot more consistently.
