Hey /mu/, my friend and I are creating a snowboarding playlist for this winter. We already have a good selection, but we want more songs to add on to it so we don't get bored. My friend wants some more chill rap music and I would like something with a bit more pace than what he has in mind. We both have the same music taste so if I like something he will too. Any suggestions?

Paul is not an artist. Paul is not a creative. Paul is a pop scientist.
good thing you have /mu/

Yes.
A scientist like Joseph Mengele.

So I listened to this album for the first time recently. I never browsed this board much, but I still knew Neutral Milk Hotel only as a meme. I never much listened to indie rock so I didn't give it a shot. But I had a drive ahead of me and I decided to download it. I hadn't been moved by new music in years, probably since I first really listened to Leonard Cohen. That first time I played it back to back for three hours. That was a couple weeks ago and I played it again today, also in the car, and I've become attached to every song (actually Communist Daughter is a work in progress). I cried this last time. Frankly I'm shocked at myself. This is actually an inspired work of passion and I love it.
What else has been memed to an extent that people disregard it?

Good job, op, thanks for your story of how you worked up the courage to listen to a meme.

nigga itaots is fucking trash. at least death grips is a GREAT meme throughout.
Rec me some songs about being a suicidal piece of shit.
I'm gonna cheat on my gf of 3 years tomorrow with a chick from work. I should end my life.
Cheating is pretty normal though
Listen to some player music , stack that punani anon
Don't do it you fucking faggot.
This might sound insensitive or something... but just don't fucking cheat then.
https://youtu.be/pC_lakXdc-E but here's a song
favorite songs? least favorite songs? aspects you liked or didn't like? thoughts?
I liked the Like A Star, Harley, Forever Young side of it where it's just super bright and positive and I think that's a good direction for him. I loved half of it, hated half of it.
>favorite songs
first 6 songs plus Better and Bring It Back are about all I can enjoy
>least favorite songs
pretty much everything else, especially Moments in Time and Say My Name
It's long sure but what he does do well is deliver the pop/rap extremes on respective tracks. Just too many bad songs on this one.
>>73242977
>>73243019
i enjoyed basically the whole thing. i could do without songs like fyi, running with a ghost, and say my name. lil boat is a classic that can't be overwritten but you can definitely see the progress and i think this was in the right direction.
Does anyone else here have very narrow taste in music?
Nearly everything I listen to is from the 50's or 60's. Mostly rock 'n' roll, country, blues, R&B, and soul. Occasionally some early/mid 70's, but nothing later unless it's trying to sound old like 80's rockabilly revival. No interest in jazz, classical, rap, metal, experimental, or modern pop. Hell, I'm even picky about old pop.
Nothing. People with very narrow taste in music aren't music fans, they're just in it for the image/fedora-ness of it.
>>73242881
I'd argue that people who are passionate about a select few genres/artists might be more "fans" of music than people who try to convince themselves they love every genre out there. Enjoy what pleases your ears.

So my friend is giving me a very old keyboard of his since I expressed interest in learning piano but I'm low on cash
Wondering though, will it being less than full range make it difficult to translate my playing to other types of piano? What about finding resources for learning?
Don't you guys play instruments here
If you're a beginner it honestly doesn't matter. Your not going to be doing huge 88 key arpeggios or anything. The thing to be concerned about with low end keyboards is the plasticky toy-like action of the keys, but it will still be a good learning device for you.
>>73242969
Yeah my friend warned me about that and how its not really sensitive to touch which sorta bummed me out but since he's giving me it for free I can't complain
Thanks for the input. Do you think since I'll be missing an octave or so it will make it hard to find resources though?
