>closing a perfect album with one of the worst songs they ever recorded
what did they mean by this?
The time where he could be relevant, and have a real impact on the world is passing, he's blowing his gift.
Literally what the fuck is this guys problem?
he's still on the xl roster
just a massive perfectionist - leak fucked him up
At this point he's a myth.
The leak is still better than anything the people trying to copy him are putting out 4 years later.

Music and yuropoors complaining.
Replace "For Dinner" with "Glenn" from their Untitled EP, which was recorded in 1990. Does it make a jump in quality? Personally, Glenn is one of my favorite Slint tracks and is better than For Dinner, but this isn't a simple case of "you can't just replace a song like For Dinner on that album and have it be the same". I really think they'd accomplish the same thing, though. They're both instrument and ominous and lead perfectly into Good Morning Captain. Glenn just seems to have more going for it with the reverb and a better riff, and the track feels more complete(though I don't think For Dinner is filler like a lot of people). People might not give a shit, but I think that switch could turn Spiderland into a near perfect album(which it basically already is). Thoughts?
I still think for dinner is cool in the whole album context.

The only case for For Dinner that I like is that it's a bit more of a "calm before the storm"(literally) than Glenn would be, since Glenn breaks out while For Dinner remains pretty reserved throughout.
They don't accomplish the same thing at all in my opinion. For Dinner is sedated and minimalist.. Glenn would be the loudest/heaviest song on Spiderland by far. It's just a completely different vibe and yes I think it would completely change the album.
Good Morning Captain would be a let down coming out of Glenn also.

You expect people to listen to albums only all the time?

It's worked out pretty well for me. If I'm just throwing on tunes I shuffle library and remove anything too out there from the queue.

Why do people pretend to hate Country music?
Why do people pretend to like electro swing?

because they actually only hate pop-country

nothing wrong with Hank Sr or Ernest Tubb
Avant-teens must constitute the majority of their fanbase. The compositions are less complex than the average mumblerap beat and drone on for ages. Only brainlets who fall asleep while listening to classical music could ever like this.
I see no redeeming qualities in this band. The band's oeuvre is described as "punishing", "oppressive", "filthy", "depressing" etc., which has led me to conclude that the average Swans fan has never listened to extreme metal and has only top 40 pop rap songs to compare their songs to.

Swans have been around longer than top 40 rap

Whats your deal exactly with the fans of swans?
question how do you choose music as a job when you have to spend so much time indoors by yourself writing and playing music? hours... that's not fun to live

shitposts on /mu/ are pretty good these days, I have to admit. If only the same could be said for the actual music discussion.
