Why have I been losing interest in listening to music lately? I haven't really done it for about a couple weeks now. I'm scared desu
No one?

i swear to god every day there's a thread like this
-stop listening to music until you remember a specific song you want to listen to again
-leave your headphones at home
-stop searching for music entirely for a couple days
-learn an instrument
It's kinda like what /v/ refers to as "tired gamer". You're just burned out. Switch hobbies for a little while and it will start to feel fresh again.

Generator is their best album.
Hey /mu/ that record company Mondo released these some years back for the Inside Out movie, and they're all based on classic album covers, but I can't for the life of me tell what the Joy character is supposed to be. Any one know?
And just in case anyone doesn't know
Sadness: Joni Mitchell - Blue
Anger: Black Flag - Damaged
Disgust: Hole - Live Through This
Fear: David Bowie - Hunky Dory
It's driving me nuts.
And here's Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream

I will never understand how people can only like an Unplugged by an artist or band unless the Unplugged changes up the songs extremely like Korns

I'm looking for more "chipgaze" like the depreciation guild, or "sadnes". Even though sadnes is more of a chipgrunge. I just want more artists like them. Do you guys know anything like this?

Venus doesn't have a body to fuck me with. She hates that and so Artemis.
I'd quite like to know in terms of composing what are the sounds that make music sound ancient? Think Rome total war OST, The HBO 'Rome' show's theme or The Mummy OST etc.
I know a lot of it is orchestra strings playing very low drones and women scream singing vowels but I struggle to identify some of the other sounds/instruments.
Examples:

What is the instrument that kicks in about 8secs in? Is it a clarinet or bassoon or something? The sound appears to be a staple of "ancient music"
Also if you could name some of the stringed instruments generally used that would be great I think a lot of it is either lyre or dulcimer (dulcimer/santur example below)

Cheers!
