An album you love and why, a song you love and why. Guess personalities
>Album
The Magnetic Fields - 69 Love Songs
After many listens, there are still gems to find and the album stays interesting and creative the whole time.
>Song
Sufjan Stevens - Now That I'm Older
beautiful vocals from Sufjan, basically a drumless AnCo, wonderful melody that fits the lyrics
>Album
Post Tropical -- James Vincent McMorrow

I'm not a huge classical fan, but I'm interested and want to get into it.
can anyone recommend some good flute pieces? my favourites so far are by vivaldi, schickhardt, and Frederick the great. i don't like bach and beethoven for some reason
hey this is alright
>>73332587
unsure which i like more
>>73332587
Yes it is. I was just listening to "This Is the Day" yesterday. It's a shame their name has probably hampered notoriety in the Internet age.
>>73332587
it is, in fact, alright
>>73332769
this and English Settlement are much better albums imo
Genius guy is trolling Moby on Twitter
https://twitter.com/VeganLyfe666
>>73332552
kek, do you think he'll read it?
Unironically good albums that /mu/ will never get.
BMTH is bad and you should feel bad
>>73332522
I listened to this album a while ago because of a thread similar to this one and it was one of the worst things I've ever heard
Is it just me, or was 2014 a really good year for albums? There was FlyLo, Aphex, and Clark for music, FKA Twigs, Run the Jewels, the return of D'Angelo, YOB, Sturgill Simpson, Against Me!, Death Blues, and a bunch of other people who released some strong music that year (even Taylor Swift, if you're into that).
Obviously it'd be easy to name a "best-of" list for any year, but shouldn't 2014 be remembered as a strong year for music? Maybe not for rap, as 2013 and 2015 came with bigger releases than RTJ, but I really do think it was an outstanding year (in part because of just the Warp releases, to be fair but still). What do you guys think?
sure, if you're redditor. 2013 and 2015 were objectively better.
>>73332524
>2014 being good and underrated means neighboring years are worse!
said no one ever.
>>73332498
2014 was a reddit year
How do you even go about writing an intro as incredible as the one on Blackened, where it sounds badass no matter which way it's played? Not asking for backmasking tips, just asking for composition tips
>>73332466
Where is the goddamn bass for this album?
>>73332502
You may not be able to hear the bass, which is bad BUT it is also difficult to hear the Lars Ulrich's dogshit drumming, which is good.
In any case, it is my favorite Metallica album.
>>73332466
You have to sign out of reddit and practice your instrument before mum tells you it's bed time.
Why do King Crimson fans on /mu/ hate this album so much? A lot of it is largely poppier than Discipline but the music is still very complex. It also has The Howler and Requiem, the latter being the 80's crim doing free improv ala the Larks Tongues lineup. This album is fantastic. What say you?
BUMP FOR FRIPP
>>73332420
What happened to King Crimson's cover art? Everything after Larks' Tongues in Aspic looks like shit.
>>73332617
I disagree. I love Starless and Bible Blacks art and Reds art. Also, the 80s had a beautiful minimalist thing going on with the art. Kind of correlates with their taken influence from minimalist composers in that era?
Are these men the greatest musical minds of the 2000s?
WHATS WITH THESE HOMIES DISSINS MY GIRL
>>73332462
That poor man was never meant to be famous.
1. Antics
2. Turn On The Bright Lights
3. Our Love To Admire
4. El Pintor
5. Interpol
Am I a scrub?
pretty much same here, except i'd swap last two
but antics and totbl are their best work, except i prefer antics because it's much warmer
>>73332394
I like Antics more too.
Also has this band really only put out five albums? They've been around forever.
How much you wanna bet they 'go electronic' on their next album?
Are y'all prepared for the best country/rap album of the year?
What the fuck is he up to now
idk I'm way more hyped for the Young Thug DSBM album
where his legs?
he got mannequin legs now?
