Is hip-hop dead?
It should've ended in the 90's.

2001 would have been ok.
Yes, it died with 50 cents career.

It was pretty good, but they are a snoozfest live.
Put together 10 modern day artists that define /mu/
Death Grips
Carseat Headrest
Kanye West
Aphex Twin
Deafheaven
Beach Boys
Those trap guys that all look the same
That Kpop group (don't know the name)
John Lennon beat his wife
Grimes
>>73341488
i dont think carseat defines /mu/ more than, say, have a nice life does.
>>73341488
/mu/ doesnt talk about the Beach Boys like they did say 5 months ago

You're spamming everything
I'm gonna downvote the video, mate
The album's pretty good
Not their best, but it's undeniably Gorillaz both in sound and groove
I think Albarn has hit the critical mass for making good music a while ago. I watched the song exploder for the new album and he's just so self centered and self important. Usually artists will go on there and talk about how they made the track,as in how all the parts physically came to be. This guy just goes on there and talks for 10 minutes about how it's based on his partner's mom's disease or some shit I could not care about. It was just 10 minutes of him patting himself on the back for being deep and a genius.

is this real?
The fact that so many books still name Taylor Swift as "the greatest or most significant or most influential" Pop Star ever only tells you how far Pop music still is from becoming a serious art. Jazz critics have long recognized that the greatest jazz musicians of all times are Duke Ellington and John Coltrane, who were not the most famous or richest or best sellers of their times, let alone of all times. Classical critics rank the highly controversial Beethoven over classical musicians who were highly popular in courts around Europe. Pop critics are still blinded by commercial success. Taylor Swift sells more than anyone else (not true, by the way), therefore she must be the greatest. Jazz critics grow up listening to a lot of jazz music of the past, classical critics grow up listening to a lot of classical music of the past. Pop critics are often totally ignorant of the Pop music of the past, they barely know the best sellers. No wonder they will think that Taylor Swift has done anything worthy of being saved.
