hey /mu/ wasn't sure where to ask
if you're using foobar as your player, has anyone got a plugin or setup that allows browsing by folder structure but separates folders from files?
right now my music folder just has a fuckload of loose singles in it, as well as a bunch of subfolders for albums etc
is there a way to organise foobar to have all the folders at the top, and the mp3 files collected at the bottom?
sort by filetype, basically, is what I'm looking for
but in the foobar library viewer.

You are going about this the wrong way
Organize your music properly (if each artist doesn't have its own folder it's not properly) and sort your music by tags like any sane person would do. The wiki is a good resource: http://wiki.hydrogenaud.io/index.php?title=Foobar2000:Foobar2000
