I love the original would I like the 2013 mix?

Albini mix

Original mix is much better. The 2013 mix is just a gimmick thing that has been made to sound different just for the sake of sounding different.
Are there are there any albums like the flower and vinegar stroke?
What do you yall think of the new Bones? I think it might be his best project front to back right now

It's hard as fuck
>>73417907
I don't know if it's better than useless but I really like it
>>73417921
It's his best this year by far at least. The others felt like filler albums. Useless and this are probably neck and neck right now for me. I really like Garbage and PP2 too but there are a lot of really terrible tracks mixed in with the awesome ones
Am I a pleb for enjoying a few songs on this album?
>deletes With Arms Wide Open
>tfw I unironically love creed
no shame. weathered and human clay are two of my favorite albums
You're a pleb if you don't enjoy Creed. My Own Prison is their undisputed best though.

I love this too. full circle as well. and scott stapp's solo album
Young Thug is the greatest musician alive. You could even say he's the Frank Zappa of our generation. He is not just another manufactured rap star, he is a complete artist. He is not someone that is being controlled by a record label. Thugger is singlehandedly one of the most innovative and unique rap artists of this decade. He is a melodic genius, his beats are experimental, innovative, unique, he isn't afraid to experiment, he is constantly evolving and changing his style. Young Thug, from the beginning, has always pushed boundaries and has continued to make progressive music that others could only hope to imitate. His voice is an instrument. He wants you to look beyond just the lyrics. They are there just to complement the music, they are an application of the voice as an instrument rather than a medium for verbal communication and storytelling. His voice and his sounds are something that no one else is doing. Young Thug obviously isn't a Kendrick/Drake type of rapper with outstanding rapping ability but he still manages to make better music than them. His mixtape, Barter 6, is an extremely introspective and personal record. It allows you to better understand the perspective and emotions of Jeffrey Lamar Williams. The mixtape has become a bridge for white youth to enjoy the art of the black inner city and empathize with the likes of Thugger and that is what is so wonderful about art. We are able to see who he really is and understand him. The introductory interview at The Fader Ford shows that he is a surprisingly soft-spoken young man and it gives you all the more reason to care about him. There was no Young Thug before Young Thug. He is not emulating anyone, he isn't trying to be anyone. He has no influences. When Check came out of nowhere, everyone loved it because nothing sounded like it. He has accomplished so much at such a young age, can you imagine what his music is going to sound like in 5 years?
Pretty much. Young thug is a genius, and only now are people starting to catch on.
Young Thug just keeps getting better and better, every album is better than the next.
Jeffery is pretty much confirmed 9/10, and BTG is probably a 9.2/10 or 9.3/10. Frankly, it's only a matter of time before he drops a perfect album. Obviously most underage, whiteboy, hip hop ""fans"" are going to be distraught since Young Thug focuses more on beautiful melodies instead of "introspective" lyrics.
Young Thug's a different musician from his contemporaries.
NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER
>his beats
you realise he makes none of them right?
he doesn't produce his albums either like kanye
just shows up and mumbles the same rhymes over and over
Are they the new Odd Future?

So overhyped, but I guess that makes them pretty similar to OF
Just started listening to Nitro and Nitro II: H.W.D.W.S. is my favorite album by them. What are your favorites? Blink 182 is pretty great as well, especially for the summer months.
Also what's up with American bands having the worst names of all time?
SO WHAT DO YOU THINK?

I haven't listened to it yet because I don't have headphones but I hope the rym genres are wrong.
Thought It'd be amazing, but it's trash

Just started listening to Boris and Smile is my favorite album by them. What are your favorites? Advantage Lucy is pretty great as well, especially for the summer months.
Also what's up with Japanese bands having the worst names of all time?

>what's up with Japanese bands having the worst names of all time
agreed 100% ! what kind of lunatic thought "imperial circus dead decadence" was even a remotely sane name to give a band, or anything for that matter

So i've been reading these guys' biography and apparently they were originally hired as staff songwriters at ABC Dunhill studios in LA. Basically they just started using the studios equipment and rehearsal space for their own pursuits and ABC got wind of it and decided to support their project. I just thought it was crazy how they sort of gypped their way into getting a record deal.

I know they're not underrated exactly, but is Steely Dan one of the most underappreciated of the "major" classic acts?
>>73417468
yes. very much so. They are one of those bands that if you truly like them you've basically listened to all of their stuff obsessively if that makes any sense. Of course there are people who know the hits and like them but in general most people who really love steely dan basically know all of their songs.
>>73417468
they deserve more airplay. reelin in the years and do it again are staples of classic rock radio. peg and josie sometimes get some attention. i think i heard kid charlemagne once on alice coopers radio show.
the only other artists i can think of who deserve radio play more who don't get enough (at least in my neck of the woods) are bob dylan, neil young, frank zappa and king crimson.
