Why is it that you just don't seem to see guitarists play Stratocasters any more? Other than the older rockers that have always used them, they seem to have been superseded by Jazzmasters and Jaguars. Same goes for Telecasters a bit as well, but less so.

And yes, there is a good reason why the large screens sit either side of the stage to help faraway audiences stay engaged; if you fill the feed with fuzzy, blurry, psychedelic pap, then it’s no wonder you lose your audience. What a contrast to go over to the Other stage and join the energy, excitement and musical wizardry of Major Lazer. It would have had me bouncing on the bed at home.

I have heard the new QOTSA album, Villains. Ask me anything. First, quick thoughts: It is easily their most commercial sounding album. It's not really poppy, it still definitely sounds like QOTSA, just QOTSA distilled down into the most easy to digest way. If you thought there was some backlash to The Way You Used To Do, then just wait...some fans will be upset with this one. I thought it was pretty cool though.

Went to Shaky Knees alone this year as well as after shows. The artists at the festival really lined up with what I have been listening to lately. Got to meet a bunch of the artists which was a huge plus. Went to Europe for 2 weeks right after this festival and I enjoyed the festival much more.
