Modern music and classical are equally formulaic. Only a regressive person can't take the new with the old. There isn't room enough in their hearts and minds for anything new and surprising, so they avoid modern music that contradicts their traditionally constructed notions of art.

What is the musical equivalent to a Hawaiian shirt?

Pavement and 70s funk
That November night, looking up into the sky,
You said,
"Hey, wish that was me up there--
It's the biggest rocket I could find,
And it's holding the night in its arms
If only for a moment.
I can't see the look in its eyes,
But I'm sure it must be laughing."
But it seemed to me the saddest thing I'd ever seen,
And I thought you were crazy, wishing such a thing.
I saw only a stick on fire,
Alone on its journey
Home to the quickening ground,
With no one there to catch it.
I put on my pointed hat
And my black and silver suit,
And I check my gunpowder pack
And I strap the stick on my back.
And, dressed as a rocket on Waterloo Bridge--
Nobody seems to see me.
Then, with the fuse in my hand,
And now shooting into the night
And still as a rocket,
I land in the river.
Was it me said you were crazy?
I put on my cloudiest suit,
Size 5 lightning boots, too.
'Cause I am a rocket
On fire.
Look at me go, with my tail on fire,
With my tail on fire,
On fire.
Hey, look at me go, look at me

Sensual World is her best album
fucking fight me i'll take you all on
>>73635202
The Dreaming is much better. The sensual world sounds like a edgier/not-so-shittier Madonna. The Dreaming is experimental, one of it's kind and thus Kate Bush's sole masterpiece

How many people here would actually be blown away by this album if they heard it without being told by the media and other influences that it's literally the greatest album mankind has ever produced
is it a meme?

How come this band were so fucking great?
Billy's songwriting and guitar playing and Jimmy's godlike drumming. Jimmy was really the missing ingredient. The common consensus with people in the Chicago scene at the time was that the band wasn't that noteworthy before he joined in. Not to downplay what Billy did, Billy Corgan has written some of the most genius guitar parts in rock music and isn't praised nearly as much as he deserves to be on that front.
I literally dropped them when I found out that Corgan recorded all of the parts himself.

Are there any music school cliches? Like how film school cliches are "opening with the main character waking up", "it was all a dream", "ends with suicide" etc.

Now that the dust has settled, we can finally admit That Springsteen is americas greatest treasure and the best pop icon we've ever had?
As well as saying the span of albums from his debut - Born in the USA is the greatest run of 10/10 albums in rock history ?
