Rest in peace DJ Screw. Today is the anniversary of the legendary freestyle session as heard on the DJ Screw's June 27th mixtape.
The point of these threads is to encourage people to look for new and interesting music. We do this by listening to and ideally discussing albums we've never heard before. Many of us already listen to new music daily, these people are in it to venture "out of their comfort zone" by listening to albums they otherwise wouldn't have, or just to have a good time.

wtf I thought this was gonna be music
just a thought.
While i really enjoy the BCD compilations, i feel like they fqil to properly capture the quality of the songs in them. The short edit of Quadrant Dub is a disgrace compared to the full thing. I mean of course, you can't just put the full length of every song because the compilation would be too fucking big but i believe that compilation to be more of a bunch of samples of the sound they made rather than the ultimate, definitive go-to listen of Basic Channel.
Talk about music production, composition, and audio engineering.

Let's get to work bitches
how's this
https://clyp.it/kzp5bxhq
>>73609575
>https://clyp.it/kzp5bxhq
I think it has a lot of potential actually, but needs a lot of fixing like mixing, and quantizing, and vocals if you're into that type of shit. The deeper horn thing that comes in at around 0:55 is really out of sync which makes it seem like it doesn't mesh well with the underlying melody setup in the beginning. You really gotta fix that part.
Seriously. Quantize your shit dude. Not to the point of it being inhuman, but to a point where it's listenable.
Also the first part goes on for way too long and it becomes repetitive.
https://clyp.it/mivwlbhm
I switched the track to mono at some point in the beat and I feel like it was the wrong decision because it's too jarring. Should I have kept it in stereo?
>>73609689
thanks for the feedback, i will consider it, although don't see how the horn is out of sync though
