Rock died when bands were less preocupied with sounding aggressive, rebelious and edgy and more with sounding pretty and hipster and reminiscent of 80's new wave.
the Beatles were totally not occupied with sounding aggressive and they're the most known and critically acclaimed rock band ever

How does one start producing music? Any tips, helpful books or videos?
Do you use such software? What's your experience with it
Anyone?

I've been thinking a lot about making music, too anon, and I'm just so scared to start.
Also, I have a pretty great computer except the sound card isn't top tier. It was mainly built for gaming and I don't know if I should invest in a better sound card before I even start or if it'll get me by.
does anyone in this thread fuck with hiatus kaiyote? I see a lot of thundercat, snarky puppy, and vulf but never these dogs.

I do, that album is pretty decent, but I just don't find them to be extraordinary.
>>73648927
Chance, Kendrick, and Drake all have already sampled this album.. its a modern classic

It's deep, funky, interesting, experimental in some forms and pretty smart. REKT YA
>honestly believing the music you listen to has anything to do with who you are as a person
>being naive and vain enough to think artists you've conflated with yourself represent you at all
moreso true for the digital or modern era
but still true
I felt this way age 15-20.
Feels so cringe looking back.
I think the kind of music you listen to does represent something about your personality, like if you're a charismatic person who likes partying you might listen to a lot of hip hop (as is the case with some people I know). There's also the case of people who "enjoy" certain artists because they aspire to be like that person, but that's very superficial and not a genuine representation of what you're really like. In my case I listen to a lot of folk and prog, which sort of mirrors my other interests (hiking, science fiction) that I developed as a result of my personality.
>/mu/ has hardly discusses this album
Im disspointed. You realize that in 10-15 years this will be looked back on as an overlooked classic, right?

>>73648488

Tips ?
>>73648651
Just feel the rhythm, make love to the sounds, add a cheeky sample here and there, then when the girls are listening to it, stand behind them and press yourself into their asses, like Ron Jeremy.
