World pop thread?
Any kind of modernised/westernised/commercialised ethnic sounding music you enjoy? english or non english it doesn't really matter.
Do you feel that not being able to understand the lyrics without a translation detracts from your enjoyment/deep appreciation?

I'M ON ICE
I'm starting to appreciate this kind of music and the way that it gets back to an era before ANY sort of Baby Boomer influence. Way more orchestral influence; way more traditional songwriting/show-tune/operatic influences. More polished than 20's/30's pop, but still old enough to sound premodern. Will the 40's make a musical comeback, /mu/?
The 50's was an underrater era, frank sintra and those crooners have a lot of great songs. And the birth of rock.
There are a few tin pan ally songs i personally like and folk from the pre 50's music world. But besides that the only music that was good was the blues and jazz.

This is really, really, really good.
It's alright, but it's no Tago Mago

What are some good microtonal arrangements, and what is your opinion on a more chaotic noteboard?
What's the easiest way to make music in different temperament scales? I know you can do half-flats and half-sharps on lots of instruments, but how do you make something in like, 15-TET, without going to a specialist and spending a shitton of money? Is there any software that'll give you that functionality?

Don't even get me started.
I could freely speak about my engagement with said person but really could use more time in my life for what I truly love. That is simply carpentry and cat sitting. Of course it couldn't happen because our most trusted psychologist friend Brian S. Stevens from Rhode Islands Design School (I think it's called RISD) is on an emergency sculpture expedition in Laos and I am left alone with 'IT'. Lately I have been watching basketball for some reason I have no idea why or when the games are on but I find myself glued to the television like I am watching some type of interpretive dance. There is a move, I don't know if you've seen it where the players bounce the ball between their legs and spin at the same time that reminds me of the play you did of the nutcracker in 4th grade. You looked so shy up there but very cute in your little pink gown. Anyway, we could go on and on but I think it's really just something I'm going to have to wait and talk to you about in person if that's ok. Well it's getting late and I'm going downstairs to let the cat out for the night. I hope you find what you are looking for.
I left two sandwiches in fridge for you. They'll be good until Saturday. Keep fit, keep smiling and tell your postman he owes me one kiddo.
Lots of love,
Uncle Davey

It won't happen, my friend
These talking machines are going to ruin the artistic development of music in this country. When I was a boy...in front of every house in the summer evenings, you would find young people together singing the songs of the day or old songs. Today you hear these infernal machines going night and day. We will not have a vocal cord left. The vocal cord will be eliminated by a process of evolution, as was the tail of man when he came from the ape.
Apes don't have tails
that's not how evolution works

How do I into old, gritty folk?
Specifically; I'm writing a paper on the influence of pop culture on the rise of labor unions in the USA.
I'm listening to Pete Seeger right now, but I don't know where to go from here.

Woody Guthrie
Carter Family

I like Anthony a lot and appreciate all his efforts, but it disturbs me that he called the serial plagiarist James Murphy's band one of his all-time favorites, and criticized one of the most daring and technically complex albums of our decade (MBDTF) so much, even going as far as to say Kanye was disingenuous about the tabloid subject matter and blowing it out of proportion.
>>74993432
>serial plagiarist
elaborate
>>74993432
It is his opinion. Also MBDTF is okay. The features ruin the album. Also fantano is right about the new lcd soundsystem. As soon as I started listening to it, I just wanted to listen to their older stuff. Made me realise that their old shit is amazing. I probably wont bother with their new album

Does anyone know why I have duplicates in my saved songs on Spotify? It usually happens when I've already saved a song like 3 years ago then when I go recently on the artist's page it appears not to be saved. If I save it, I have a duplicate. If I unsave it, both the old and the new one are gone. What's up with that?
