Why were Gen Xers and early millennials so much more angsty than earlier generations when it came to music?

>>74032215
He doesn't make beats

lol not gonna speak for other albums but Nas had an all-star roster of producers for Illmatic (Primo, Pete Rock, Large Professor, Q-Tip) and all the beats were fire

>why do bands like this exist.
Because some people like the way that their music sounds
Don't like it? Don't listen to it. Easy.
Just listened to this for the first time and it's fantastic, where should I go next in their discog?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J48cbIJAmrY
Nothing else is really alike honestly, it's a near perfect fusion of all of their styles but in an accessible shell.
Just give all of their main albums a shot.
I quite enjoy their compilation album Posobie dlya nachinayuschih: Glas Sérebra, or Пocoбиe для нaчинaющих: Глac Cépeбpa.
It starts off with "Amethyst Deceivers," which will be familiar for listeners of Ape of Naples - it's quite a nice version too. The album focuses on the more ambient side of Coil's music.

What's the difference between these two editions? Track listing looks the same.
anyone here play the banjo, why is it so hard?
why does everything i play sound like shit, should i just give up?
https://clyp.it/fzkknmtk
>>74031937
Holy fuck slow down on the playing
>>74031937
Don't give up, get a 4-string tenor banjo, the strings have a bit more spacing so it's easier to do rolls.
The banjo is an amazing instrument. Especially in alternative music. More folks need to be playing it:

I tried listening to what normies listen but I don't know if it's ironic or not.
Help me please.
I tried multiple times to explore different genres but it seems I never get "it", I think 15 year olds have a deeper understanding of music or what they like than me.
literally just finding one band you enjoy one or two songs by and exploring everything they've put out is a good way to start. at this point i don't do that with every artist because most discographies aren't worth hearing in their entirety and it creates a backlog but... it's a good place to start
>>74031901
Why is irony important to you? Just find music that you don't need to "get" to enjoy.
It sounds like you're expecting some kind of epiphany when you finally hear the perfect song. Why don't you just listen to shit with no expectations and if you want to listen to it again when it's over, do so.
Is someone better than those kids? absolutely not. can you guys convince me?
protip: you fucking can't
I already made my mind, Vince Staples, Childish Gambino and Travis Scott are TOP 3 best rappers of the moment, probably TWO of them is lock-on to be greatest underrated rappers to ever live but Vince Staples is WAY better than Kendrick Lamar, thats a wrap in my mind after hours thinking and thinking and various calculations and finally, here we are.
>b-b-b-but muh DNA, muh HUMBLE
Kendrick is great tho, but Staples did what he did years before and no one noticed.

does anyone else get a crush on a girl then start to connect the lyrics of super deep love songs to them? like, even though you barely speak to them or know them. they're just in the same class in school or something
Dont know about that but god has decided to play jesse's girl on the radio at some real inoportune times for me.
