I don't like HT, but Meteora is unironically great. If it weren't for the Chester's vocal style and lyrics nobody would make fun of that album.
Was he the greatest punk musician of all-time?
He was so hot too. Amazing height and face

He couldnt even play the bass. He was probably the less talented member of the Sex Pistols.
Handsome for a Brit.

Stop listening to rap.

Can somebody tell me exactly the different rap styles? I've been a fan of the guys on uncle howie records/jedi mind tricks for years, so shit like vinnie paz, ra the rugged man, goretex, ect. But earlier this year i've been getting into a lot of shit like madchild, lil wyte, immortal technique, prevail, gangsta boo, da mafia 6ix. And I've always had a place for shign02 and king geeodorah in my heart. But I see some of these guys who collab or even mention eachother like they do other guys big and small. Can someone break down the rap scenes/styles?

ITT: Things people/the internet like to say about musicians that are overblown.
Every other internet article about Dylan talks about how he actually hippies. I think it'd be more accurate to say that he disliked being known as their spokesman and wanted to be out of the limelight. I don't think you tour with The Grateful Dead and ask to be a member of their band (source: Down the Highway, it was also them that turned him down) if you really hate hippies or hang out, write songs and eventually form a short-lived band with George Harrison, or play at the Isle of Wight, which may as well have been called Woodstock-in-the-UK, or make something like the Rolling Thunder Revue, etc.

John Lennon beat his wife, but not that much
Ringo Start being a bad drummer. He wasn't great or innovative, but there was nothing wrong with his drumming, George Martin even said he made the least mistakes out of the 4 of them during recording sessions.
>rap is music
>>73815410
I mean, I know you're using Jerry Garcia to troll/bait and you probably know already or don't care, but they did something very similar that was also called "rapping" in which they would play some melodic or rhythmic pieces of noise and try to rapidly speak over them, hence lyrics like "Please don't dominate the rap jack"
"The Rap" to these dirty hippies was a rhythmic dialogue created through improvisation.
It's also kind of funny because musicians and artists in general have long since accepted that what makes it music is calling it music. So the real question should be whether or not it is "good" music, which is entirely subjective.
Your thread sucks.
Does it get any better?

Are you one of the cool kids that realizes how talented he was and that otherworldly ear for melody he had and how him dying is one of the most poignant examples of wasted potential in all of popular music or do you still think Sublime is fratboy rapist-core because you've heard like five songs over and over on the radio?

That song gets hard to listen to when you he apparently died like less than a week after it was recorded
Can any huehue give me the tl;dr on Caetano Veloso's huge discography?
I've been digging his most sparse work (Cualquer Coisa, Caetano (1986), Joia) I heard a few tunes from his other 80s stuff and it sounded terrible. So whats the deal? What are his most acclaimed works?
Br music general I guess
