Woah, you didn't tell me indie was back in.
What are some other Indie hits that are revitalizing indieheads around the world?

Lmao nah nobody cares about indie.

What do we do about the manlet problem in hip hop?
I think the only problem is insecure mantlets of 4chan who get envious about some other manlets getting rich and famous
>>73827092
I think the problem is that we have manlets who get annoyed about manlets talking about manlets because they are so insecure they don't want people to talk about manlets.

Every "man" below 6'0" should be executed
This is why i really hate normies (of music), ca they wouldn't know talent if it slapped them with 12 cock with "TALENTED MUSICIAN(S)" tattooed on the side.
you for this fuck here
>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GA74eFHF-Y
with 2 million views on this redbone remix that he probably spent 10 mins on
>1-2 mins downloading the song & opening the Sound editing program
>1-2 mins editing it
>1-2 mins editing the picture
>and 4-6 mins rendering it and uploading it to YouTube.
when there are far more talented musicians doing the same thing
like this/these guy(s)
>who came out months before the guy above
>is better
>recorded the video on live instruments
>if he's good probably took him 1-2 weeks to write record, rerecord if there were any mistakes
>go through artist's depression, cas he thinks it doesn't sound good enough.
>post it
>and get albinism views, but positive reviews
his talent and effort went to shit and didn't gain the traction he deserves.
fuck the musically illiterate; they don't know talent.
>>73827030
I think you fucked it up.

Britbong here, I went into this thinking "oh now i'm gonna learn about oasis without reading walls of text on Wikipedia", it went up to the release of The Masterplan then ended. The parts they did cover was fun to watch but i was expecting the whole career?
>>73827015
Why did oasis get all the attention in the u.s. during the height of britpop? There were so many that were better.......,is it just because they were the loudest and fought with each other all the time?
>>73827015
post-knebworth is basically
>man we're the biggest band in the fookin world, let's do all these drugs and put out a new album
>well shit i guess people are tired of the whole oasis bit huh lads, say why don't we shake things up a bit? by the way bonehead and guigs you two can fuck off
>well shit that was all a bit crap wasn't it, oh well let's regroup and make another album
>well shit that was all a bit crap wasn't it, oh well let's regroup and make another album...again
>well shit this one turned out quite ok, let's regroup and make another album
>well shit this one isn't bad either, mayb--
>well shit the brothers are fighting again
>well shit noel just broke up the band
>well shit, let's start a bunch of half-baked solo careers, andy you can reform ride
like apart from liam getting a) divorced around the 2000 wembley gigs and b) his teeth kicked out in 2002 there's nothing docu-worthy, just a band of millionaires grinding it out on tour and putting out decidedly average music
>>73827681
>is it just because they were the loudest and fought with each other all the time?
yeah the brothers had fun tabloid-worthy personalities, plus they were probably the only group that could appeal to americans anyway. yanks don't know what bow bells or bank holidays are
>"actually classical just denotes the era, the term is western art music"
>music is a form of art
>western music
>can describe literally all music of the west
>>73826999
Well then maybe people should stop the: "well Bach is actually baroque and not classical" bullshit when reffering to classical as an umbrella term.
It is art music though. The term classical is even more asinine. Not to mention that art music covers more than just western traditions as well.
>>73826849
Yes, yes we do.
>lost the interest of being impressed by music
>lost the interest of discovering music
>start to listen to stuffs that i listened to in my heydays, back in middle school when i was happy. shit like screamo or metalcore. and think about how nice those days were.
is there something wrong with me, famalam ? am i still a music guy ? or am i just a normie that listens to music only for the emotions/memories ?
That's called growing up. Music listening is only a hobby. You might also be depressed.
>>73826810
it sounds like you're depressed senpai
>>73826848
>>73826852
maybe depressed. how can i grow up ? i never socialize, i don't read books.
This album came out during my finals, but now I have time to give it a go

Pretty good, one of their better works.
Shame the real Joshua Tree died before I could get to California.
I know industrial is mostly an English genre, but is their any good Japanese industrial? give me the recs or at least some really good Japanese /bleeps/
most of the highly regarded japanese (purely) industrial stuff are soundtracks, weirdly. Check out tetsuo and the first silent hill.
you also have the endless amounts of japanese noise and power electronics, like grim and early merzbow.
>>73826614
silent hill OSts are fucking amazing especially the first 2
>>73826633
pretty good
Hug of Thunder has been released on the 7th, what did you think of it? Love it/ hate it? Favourite track? etc.
Feel free to discuss anything pertaining to the band as they are part of the awkward fringe between being popular enough to be known on /mu/ yet slightly more obscure than most /mu/core bands and so are relatively ignored, often skipped over in favour of more niche bands so it would seem (should you have any other hypothesis then feel free to share).
>>73826519
It's my new AOTY so far dethroning fleet foxes. It just bums me out that it probably won't get the recognition it deserves since Drake has become "the Toronto scene" and indie is all but dead.
>>73826519
It's the best straight rock album to come out thus far. Which is impressive because with a 7 year gap in between albums, this could have been the typical, the really shouldn't have, comeback album. My favourite track is vanity pail kids.
I think they as a band will always have a place in /mu/ heart because of how excellent YFIP was, but the old guard that adored them and pretty much the rest of the cancon early 00s pantheon is gone so discussion about them is increasingly more difficult to get off the ground.
>>73827222
Glad you like it, kinda strange how Feist seems to have eclipsed the band in popularity, still cool to see her collaborating with them.
>>73827625
It certainly looks that way.
holy shit
if this was released by ANYONE but them i guarantee there would be a thread on /mu/ about it right fucking now
it's quite boring & too clean imho; I prefer the Free Design or The Association
>I guarantee there would be a thread on /mu/ about it right fucking now
Well yeah, cuz you just made one dumbutt.
But you're right. It's one of my all-time favorites. It's more consistent of an album than Sgt. Pepper, and at the same level of Pet Sounds imo.
And it didn't even get a mention in Jersey Boys. Fucking hell.
I honestly wish it got more love, it's criminally underrated!
rec && r8
please rec I'm out of new music
